with GRET
The Provincial Water Supply and Sanitation Project (PWSSP) is a key initiative led by the Royal Government of Cambodia to enhance the urban environment and living conditions in the provincial towns of Battambang, Kampong Cham, and Siem Reap. The project contributes directly to national targets for universal access to safe water and sanitation services by 2025, as outlined in the National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) 2019–2023. It also supports the goal of financial autonomy for Provincial Water Works (PWWs), thereby strengthening the sustainability and efficiency of public utilities.

Effective sanitation and wastewater management—covering both sewerage systems and on-site septage management—requires strong public awareness and behavior change at multiple levels. Success hinges on community understanding, leadership engagement, and the adoption of new practices around sanitation and hygiene. This approach includes the development of tailored communication tools, participatory methods, and advocacy materials.
