Researcher

Location: based at the CPS office in Phnom Penh

Duties
  • Conduct the literature review, design research methodology, and develop data collection instruments such as questionnaires, checklists, and other tools
  • Hold or take part in team meetings and technical discussions with other CPS researchers on various topics and projects
  • Initiate research concept notes and contribute to research proposals in response to potential research opportunities
  • Contribute to and/or participate in capacity building plans and trainings
  • Assist the publication process and dissemination of the research findings
  • Participate in relevant meetings, workshops, and policy dialogues
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in economics, development studies, agriculture, rural development, or other related fields
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting and/or managing policy-oriented research projects related to any of the above fields
  • Extensive knowledge of global and regional development contexts and trends that matter to Cambodia
  • Sound understanding of Cambodia’s socioeconomic issues and strategic priorities for inclusive growth and development.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in quantitative and qualitative research design, data analyses and report writing
  • Good experience in using statistical software (e.g., Stata or SPSS) for quantitative data management and analysis
  • Good interpersonal skills and excellent communication in English and Khmer
 

Research Assistant

Location: based at the CPS office in Phnom Penh

Duties
  • Support and conduct fieldwork and undertake data entry for CPS research and survey projects
  • Evaluate data as specified and guided by the survey team leader
  • Verify and maintain the accuracy of data entry and recording for all research/survey projects while safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects
  • Assist and facilitate activities related to research projects under CPS
  • Maintain all research documentation and survey questionnaires
  • Assist in translating documents from English to Khmer as required
  • Perform other survey/research-related tasks as assigned by CPS colleagues and the director
  • Support CPS in organising research-related events like workshop and dialogues
  • Communicate research findings effectively to internal and external stakeholders
  • Participates in relevant training, meetings and workshops
Requirements
  • A university degree in economics, agriculture, or a related field of study
  • At least one year of relevant research and administrative experience, particularly in data entry and management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong data analytical skills and experience using statistical software such as SPSS and Stata (preferred)
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Good English and Khmer writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving ability, work ethics, and integrity
