Voice Cambodia Organization works directly with people in crisis in Cambodia to help them access food, shelter, healthcare, safety, education, and sustainable livelihoods. Voice works with over 500 people in crisis each year. Voice staff work out of two community centres located in Beoung Kak and Chouk Va. Our community centres provide a daily lunch program for hundreds of people and many of our clients live nearby these centres so clients regularly drop-in. Voice case workers are in contact with between 20 to 30 clients a day and conduct regular outreach visits to meet with clients and partners. The Voice Case Work Team meet regularly to ensure effective case management and collaboration, and to foster a supportive environment for both staff and clients.

The position is for Thalassaemia Assistance Project (TAP)

Work location: Voice’s Chouk Va or Beoung Kak Office

Duties and requirements

We’re seeking a compassionate, dedicated individual to join the Voice team and make a real difference in the lives of those affected by Thalassaemia in Cambodia.

Thalassaemia is a genetic blood disorder that requires lifelong care. Through our Thalassaemia Assistance Project (TAP), we work directly with patients and their families to:

  • Ensure access to essential medical treatments.
  • Address the socioeconomic challenges of living with a chronic illness.
  • Manage a life-saving blood donation program to assist volunteer blood donors to donate blood to enable people with Thalassaemia to receive the blood transfusions they need to survive.

Requirements
  • Experience providing psychosocial support to sick or chronically ill people.
  • Empathy and understanding for people living with chronic illness
  • Knowledge of the health system and blood donation system in Cambodia.
  • Knowledge of child protection and working with vulnerable people.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and planning skills for crisis support.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders, including government officials and foreigners.
  • Good written and spoken Khmer and English language.
  • Relevant background or qualifications in social work, psychology, or health.
  • Values of respect, dignity, empowerment, integrity, and compassion.
