with StudyBeyondBorders Organization
SeeBeyondBorders’ primary focus is to improve education standards in Cambodia, providing children with access to quality teaching and learning at school. SeeBeyondBorders is a registered charity in Australia and the UK and operates as a registered international non-government organisation in Cambodia. Operating in two provinces in Cambodia, SeeBeyondBorders conducts programs to teach teachers, engage parents and communities to support and encourage their children to get to school. In the work we do in schools and in the way we run the organisation, our aim is to build capability within Cambodia so that ultimately SeeBeyondBorders becomes the professional development provider of choice.
Our primary focus is in the rural areas of Battambang and Siem Reap provinces. In each area, our Quality Teaching programs form the lead initiative and are supported by our Community Engagement and Systemic Support programs according to individual school development plans, community needs, and systemic requirements. Currently we work in 89 schools, with approximately 466 teachers in our programs, who teach and educate more than 13,500 children.
At SeeBeyondBorders we are looking for a qualified primary teacher (preferably with lower primary experience) to join our education team. The successful applicant will work as part of our education team to review, implement and assist in design of curriculum documents including lesson plans and resources to support Cambodian teachers.
We seek applications from qualified teachers who have a passion for learning design, are willing to share their knowledge of how children learn and work well in a team. The successful applicant will have opportunities to observe teachers, provide technical support to in-class mentors, design and review resources and offer feedback to the program.
When working with SeeBeyondBorders you will be supported with professional learning to understand the local cultural context, SeeBeyondBorders’ programs and any Cambodian specific knowledge, so no prior Khmer experience is expected.
The SeeBeyondBorders staff are passionate about making change and look forward to working with a teacher with a passion for learning and teaching. If you have any questions about what the position involves or about working in Cambodia please contact us.
