Heifer International is a global development organization on a mission to end hunger and poverty in a sustainable way by supporting and investing alongside local farmers and their communities. For over 75 years, Heifer International has invested in smallholder farmers around the world, supporting them to build businesses that are economically and environmentally sustainable.
Heifer began working in Cambodia in 1999, improving production and increasing incomes of smallholder farmers through backyard chickens and safe vegetables, while exploring opportunities in beef cattle value chains. Smallholder farmers in the country are organized into self-help groups (SHGs) and agricultural cooperatives (ACs), enabling them to access new markets and financing to scale their agribusinesses. SHGs receive various capacity building trainings as a part of Heifer’s Values-Based Holistic Community Development (VBHCD) model which helps them to unleash their potential. Heifer Cambodia’s projects focus on increasing food security, improving sanitation and hygiene, building agricultural skills and investment, and integrating Micro-Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) into inclusive agricultural market systems and value chains, while strengthening sustainable community development networks at the local and provincial level.
Heifer International is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender identify, sexual orientation, age, status as a protected veteran, among other things, or status as a qualified individual with disability.
