Jahoo is a community-owned initiative providing wildlife-friendly livelihoods, motivating conservation action, and supporting social development with the unique southern yellow-cheeked crested gibbon as its flagship species.

Jahoo is located within the core conservation zone of Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary (KSWS), Mondulkiri, Cambodia, the last stronghold for this gibbon species protecting a critical population of approximately 1,200 gibbons. 3 groups of gibbons, living within a community protected forest, are being habituated to human presence for wildlife-based tourism and conservation research. The project is supported by World Hope International (WHI) and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS).

Summary

Objective

Create a portfolio of professional photos that can be used across a variety of marketing products from websites, leaflets, social media channels and field guides that showcase ecotourism, hospitality, research, wildlife, staff and community at its very best at Jahoo.

Scope of Work

The consultant will deliver the following outputs:

1. Pre-Production:

  • Conduct an initial briefing with Jahoo representatives to understand the project’s vision, objectives, context, specific needs and requirements.
  • Develop a detailed photography plan and schedule, including locations, subjects, and timelines.

2. Production:

  • Travel to Jahoo and conduct on-site photography sessions over a specified period.
  • Capture high-quality images of the following themes:
  • Ecotourism – Activities and interactions of tourists at Jahoo.
  • Wildlife – Jahoo's target mammal, bird, reptile, insect and amphibian species.
  • Hospitality – Accomodation, facilities and services provided at the Bamboo camp.
  • Research – Gibbon habituation and data collection, phenology, camera trapping and line transects.
  • Community – Conservation patrols, water system, community meetings and engagement.
  • Staff – group photos of each Jahoo team ie. Research, maintenance, ecotourism, hospitality.

(Ensure all photos are taken in natural light and reflect the authentic environment and community)

3. Post-Production:

  • All photos should be edited to professional standards, including color correction, cropping, and retouching as needed to the highest quality.
  • Provide a selection of edited photos in various formats suitable for web, print, and social media use.

Location Delivery of outputs 1 and 2 must be at the location, Jahoo, Bamboo Camp, Mondulkiri, Cambodia. Delivery of output 3 can be remotely.

Timeframe All deliverables are to be completed by August 2024.

Reports to Jahoo Manager.

Send a delivery proposal offer (timeline and consultancy fees), portfolio of previous work, especially showcasing wildlife, landscape, and human portrait and an up-to-date CV.
