with Cambodian Youth Network Association
Cambodian Youth Network Association (CYN) was established on October 31, 2009, by a group of students from four universities to undertake and advocate for voluntarily promoting human rights, environmental rights, and development issues in Cambodian society. CYN was registered with the Ministry of Interior on 07 May 2013 as a youth member-based association working with students, rural youth networks, and communities to increase youth participation and civic engagement in Cambodia. CYN is not affiliated with any political party or religion. The main factors for youth network establishment are essential social issues, including a lack of relevant knowledge, skills, and solidarity, insufficient space and opportunities for learning and sharing, civic engagement, widespread human rights violations, and harmful development projects. CYN has been collaborating with partner organizations to build youth capacity, youth empowerment, and civil and political engagement and participate in advocacy activities to demand social justice, respect human rights, and democracy. CYN has focused mainly on natural resource protection and conservation, national minimum wage, and human rights promotion among youth in Cambodia through university and provincial youth networks. CYN's mission is to empower Cambodian youth by building capacities, developing networks, and supporting their advocacy for good governance, social justice, respect for human rights, and sustainable use of natural resources. CYN is also organizing and mobilizing youth to promote and protect human rights and natural resources in Cambodia.
