UWS was founded in Cambodia in 2008 and currently operates 96s schools across seven provinces, Rattanakiri, Steung Treng, Kratie, Mondulkiri, Koh Kong, Oddar Meanchey, and Preah Vihear. UWS Cambodia contributes to strengthening primary education systems through working with national and local governments to improve quality and inclusive primary education and facilities for children in remote areas. To date, UWS has reached over 11,000 students, built capacity in 140 primary schools, and 44 schools were completed transitioned to national education systems.

Senior Education Officer (2 Positions)

Location / Duty Station: Banlung, Rattanakiri with frequent travel (up to 50%) to school projects in remote communities.

Role Purpose / Summary

The Senior Education officer will lead and support Education Officers to effectively implement project activities in line with the work plan, targets and budget of project activities including implementation of school transition, capacity building and community engagement workshops in their territory. He/She will responsible to the overall engagement and coordination works at the district level through networking and working closely with district education officer, commune leaders, NGOs partners, private sector partners to effectively coordinate and collaborate to sustain school functioning.

Reports To: Program Coordinator

Type of Contract: Full – Time with Unspecify Duration Contract.

Working Hours: 40 hours per week

He/she will be responsible to the overall engagement and coordination works at the commune and school level through strengthening functionality of school management committee for improving the quality of education as well as sustain education services in their target community.

Role Purpose / Summary

The transition officer is an exciting position for potential candidates to gain experience in an INGO. The postholder should be able to demonstrate relevant experience on workshop facilitation, community engagement and local government partnership.

The transition officer will coordinate in leading effective school transition action plan setting and monitoring, provide capacity building to school management committees (SMC) and mobilize community engagement with local government. The candidate will work under the guidance of the advocacy manager to ensure a successful pre and post school transition within our target schools.

Role Purpose / Summary

The MEAL Officer role at UWS Cambodia offers a valuable opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in an international NGO environment. The postholder should possess strong data management and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools. This role involves supporting the Cambodian MEAL Coordinator in enhancing the quality of MEAL operations, ensuring accurate and timely data collection, promoting evidence-based decision-making, and strengthening the capacity of Education Officers (EOs) and program staff in MEAL processes.

Under the supervision of the MEAL Coordinator, the MEAL Officer will play a key role in monitoring project progress, ensuring compliance with the MEAL framework, and contributing to the generation of reports and actionable insights for program improvement. This position also offers opportunities to develop skills in monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, and stakeholder engagement.
