Job summary: Skillful and experienced in developing vocational training courses and materials specifically tailored to aquaculture inland farming practices. Responsibilities include engaging learning materials and arrange practical sessions with the goal of improving knowledge and skills in diverse aspects of aquaculture practices. The focus is to achieve a practical: classroom time ratio of about 3:1 or higher.

Duties
  • Design and develop vocational training course and materials focus on aquaculture inland farming practices
  • Responsible in engage learning materials and arrange practical sessions with the goal of improving knowledge and skills in diverse aspects of aquaculture practices. (The focus is to achieve a practical: classroom time ratio of about 3:1 or higher).
  • Scope of vocational course and material to develop will be focusing on:
  • Aeration for aquaculture in hatcheries and production farms
  • Water sources for aquaculture and how to access (include pump types and sizes)
  • Fish health management for extension agents: Role of stress; how to submit a sample; effective treatments.
  • Advanced fish disease diagnostics and fish health management for people who already had some training on fish health
  • Nursery operation for production farmers
  • Three species specific grow-out courses: swamp eels, peacock eels, prawns
  • Collaborate with experts and relevant stakeholders in the field for content validation and create documentation such as training manuals, guides, and assessments for ongoing learning and evaluation.
Requirements
  • The minimum qualification and experience required are:
  • Master’s degree or Bachelor's degree studies in higher in Aquaculture, Fisheries, Biology, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in vocational training design and development including materials in the context of fisheries/aquaculture or agriculture development.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experiences in developing specific experience in providing training in fisheries/aquaculture to farmers
  • Good command of Khmer and English.
  • Experience working on development projects in fisheries/aquaculture or agriculture.
