FUNCTION : Health Care Department

LOCATION : Srae Sar village, Tbaeng Khpos, Samakki MeanChey, Kampong Chhnang

We are seeking a Head of Nurse who is responsible for Health Care Department at SGC. S/he will work as The Nurse’s primary responsibility is to provide medical examination and basic medical health care/treatment, first aid, preventive service, and medical emergency relief to SGC staff and families inside farm as well as SGC students and refer patient to appropriate clinic/hospitals to relief suffering from sickness for healthiness and happiness.

Duties
  • Administer evidence based first aid to all who present to the Health Clinic; ensure appropriate documentation of events
  • Capable of rapidly assessing and responding to emergency situations in an organized and calm manner to ensure optimal response and results
  • Supervise and mentor nursing assistants ultimately ensuring competency of medical care provided to the SGC’s community members
  • Provide confidential health advice to SGC community members
  • Develop/update policies and procedures for the Health Clinic using current policy and evidence-based practices
  • Maintain necessary and appropriate communication with the school administration, parents, and students in order to promote and maintain students’ & staff health and welfare
  • Liaise with health professionals regarding management of chronic and contagious conditions
  • Provides health instruction and training within SGC using sound learning and developmental theories to promote and educate in health and wellness topics
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a multicultural setting with students, parents, school personnel, and community agencies
  • Participates in professional conferences dealing with education and health within the limits of nursing practice
  • Maintain medical concerns list and provide copies to appropriate departments
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited program of nursing - transcripts required
  • Two years public health experience with references; experience with child and adolescent health, school health, or community health - preferred
  • Current license to practice as a registered professional nurse in country of origin – preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good communication in written and spoken English and Khmer language
  • Computer literacy
  • Being sympathetic, care, and willing to relief sickness/suffering from other
  • Enjoy and love working with children

Duties
  • Take vital sign examination and adjusted wound treatment
  • Help with basic clinical examination
  • Help with giving basic medication and support in health emergency
  • Refer patients to partner hospital/clinic occasionally accompanying patient in vehicle transportation to hospital/clinic if necessary.
  • Make request for medical supplies to refill first aid kit/medical stock
  • Conduct covid rapid test to suspected patients/staff quarantine end including fill lab request form, testing, release result, get contagious waste burned.
  • Refer positive patient for treatment at government health institutions
  • Provide education/training on health care matter to staff/students during outbreak of disease occasionally.
  • Assist translation for expats relating to consultation etc.
  • Check and give advice on disinfection, healthy, safety and hygiene especially infection control.
  • Record medical register
  • Maintain patient file/related documents for doctor’s reference
  • Maintain and check medical supplies stock
  • Make medical order to refill medical stock
  • Attend bi-weekly and monthly meeting
  • Make medical report on monthly basis
  • Taking care and regular control of the infrastructure of the clinic or get the responsible person to repair it
  • Check-up nutritional status and average condition of children
  • Be on call if needed
  • Willing to learn and educate in a new environment
  • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.
Requirements
  • Graduated secondary/bachelor’s degree of nursing school
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a nurse
  • Good communication in written and spoken English and Khmer language
  • Computer literacy
  • Being sympathetic, care, and willing to relief sickness/suffering from other
  • Interpersonal skill and communication skill
