with Plan International Inc.
Founded in 1937, Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation with no religious, political, or governmental affiliations. Our vision is a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We engage people and partners to; empower children, young people and communities to make vital changes that tackle the root causes of discrimination against girls, exclusion and vulnerability; drive change in practice and policy at local, national and global levels through our reach, experience and knowledge of the realities children face; work with children and communities to prepare for and respond to crises and to overcome adversity; support the safe and successful progression of children from birth to adulthood.
Plan International began its operations in Cambodia in 2002. Plan International Cambodia is currently operating its 4th Country Strategic (CS4) from 01 July 2021 to 30 June 2026. The CS4 was developed based on a solid situation analysis and incorporated existing data sources (internal and external). The choices include transformational changes to what PIC already does in Cambodia, in line with Plan’s Global Strategy. And they incorporate up-to-date technical good practices. In this new strategy, PIC is focusing on adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), marginalized and hard-to-reach groups of people in geographic areas where there are few other organizations and limited Government services, and overlooked populations (e.g., LGBTQI). To achieve its ambitious Strategic aims, PIC recognizes that it will need to work hard on its own organizational culture to align with organizational values, especially gender equality as well as a youth-friendly and supportive mindset and processes. There are four core programs in the new country strategy including Healthy Start, Protection Plus, Lifelong Learning, and Girls Leadership. PIC’s four Core Program reflects a lifespan approach that addresses the needs of adolescent girls and young women in Cambodia.
