Background (Project Background) (Insert Brief description of project here)
Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is an HIV prevention and care technical assistance (TA)project funded under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). EpiC is implemented by FHI 360 in partnership with Catholic Relief Services, Palladium, PSI, and provides TA to Sub, Sub-Sub and Sub-Sub-Sub-Implementers of national HIV prevention and care program funded by the Global Fund. EpiC is focused on helping the Royal Government of Cambodia achieve and maintain HIV epidemic control through strategic technical assistance to improve HIV prevention, case finding, care, and treatment. EpiC works together with the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Dermatology and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) (NCHADS) to tailor its strategic direction toward key populations (KPs) — female entertainment workers (FEW), men who have sex with men (MSM), transgender (TG) persons and people who inject drugs (PWID) by improving access to prevention counseling, biomedical prevention, HIV testing and enrollment and retention in treatment and care if found to be HIV positive. EpiC works with the National AIDS Authority, NCHADS, PASP, key population leaders, organizations working with key populations, and private-sector providers to plan and implement services that reduce HIV transmission among key populations and their sexual partners and extend the lives of those already living with HIV.
