Job position description:

CFDD will implement the project entitled “Community Fisheries Co-management: Capacity Building and sharing experiences and lesson learnt among Mekong Region Member Countries”. The project overall objective is to strengthen the Capacity of officers and relevant stakeholders on the fisheries co-management for a sustainable fisheries resource management through sharing of experiences and lessons learnt among Mekong-Lancang region countries including Cambodia, Vietnam, Lao, Thailand, Myanmar, and China. To achieve the objectives and targets of the project, CFDD will recruit a consultant who will support the team to implement the proposed activities based on the logical framework of the project.

Duties
  • Design the International Training Workshop, International Field Study Visits, and International Wrap-up Training Workshop;
  • Provide technical support for the implementation of project activities;
  • Provide technical skill as resource person in both training workshops and in the international field study visits;
  • Assist in preparation and development of the project results document for publication;
  • Assist the project implementation during the international training workshop and international field visit, interpretation service; Khmer-English, Myanmar-English, and Lao-English; are needed; and
  • Support other activities that may arise during the implementation period of the project.
Requirements
  • Essential requirements for the position
  • At least a master’s degree in relevant field in the area of fisheries, environment and natural resources management, social works and development, and/or other relevant courses for the said assignment
  • The proposed consultant should have a clear knowledge and experiences in Community Fisheries Co-management and development;
  • Experience in organizing international training and field study visit documentation;
  • Good experience working with the government and development partners in particular with the fisheries sector;
  • At least 5 years working experience in Cambodia, in particular with the capture fisheries and community fisheries development.
  • Preferred (but not essential) requirements for the position
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • High level written and oral communications skills in English;
  • Must be result-oriented, a team player, exhibiting high levels of enthusiasm, tact, diplomacy and integrity;
  • Experience in research, policy development, management and programming-related work.
