Project Overview: USAID Enhancing Quality of Healthcare Activity (EQHA) engages and empowers national and provincial leadership and public and private managers and providers to collaboratively improve service quality, strengthen systems, increase services utilization and enhance health outcomes within Cambodia’s decentralizing health system. The project requires a qualified consultant to edit 4 clinical Nursing Procedure videos.

USAID-EQHA Pre-service team is working to support MoH-HRDD and RTCs to focus on:

  • Support MOH-HRDD to transform training curriculum to competency-based education (CBE) on the ADN, BSN, Preceptor curriculum and also help HRDD and TWG to develop the National CBE pedagogy curriculum to train faculty member at health training institution in Cambodia
  • Support RTCs to implement CBE through training, simulation lab and distance learning hubs and also help HRDD and RTCs to develop the clinical nursing training videos to be the teaching tool to use during the Competency Based Education AND, BSN apply with nursing student.

To support pre-service and communication specialist to edit 4 clinical Nursing Procedure videos

  1. Drawing up medications (to go with the IM video)
  2. NGT insertion
  3. Suction
  4. general survey (head to toe assessment)

Scope of Work

The independent technical consultant/ agency will be responsible for editing 4 videos as mentioned above and using his editing skills and designs to create well informative and educational videos.

The period of performance is expected from February 6, 2023 to April 15, 2023. (Total estimated LOE – 16 days

Location of Work

The position will be based in USAID-EQHA of FHI 360 office in Phnom Penh.

Travel

Consultant will not be required to travel in Phnom Penh or provinces.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Review pre-service video script scenarios and make sure s/he understands the scripts well before starting video editing
  • Review and categorize all video footages provided by pre-service team and communication specialist
  • Work on the editing of the 4 pre-service videos including insert music, titles, and relevant pictures into the videos as require matching with teaching tool in clinical nursing procedures
  • Add graphics or animations into the videos as suggested by pre-service team and communication specialist
  • Well communication with Preservice Education team and Communication Specialist during period of editing
  • Edit and change the comment after submitting the final video draft to preservice education team and commination specialist
Requirements:
  • Qualifications and Experiences
  • Proven work experience as a video editor
  • Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut)
  • Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
  • Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
  • Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
  • Creative mind and storytelling skills
  • Edit footage into timelines and cut time out of certain shots to create a more impactful story for the audience
  • Combine visual footage with audio sound effects, dialogue, ambient sound and a musical soundtrack to create more drama in the story
  • Use computer editing software programs, video switching devices, digital video effects programs and other tools to piece together film components
  • Ensure all editing cuts, splices, changes and additions appear seamless and natural and help the story flow more effectively in the finished product
