NatureLife Cambodia was established with technical support from BirdLife International and became a national BirdLife Partner for Cambodia on 9th December 2020. In the capacity of BirdLife in Cambodia, this national organization is working to maintain and preserve wildlife in Cambodia; conserving sites and habitats for biodiversity sustaining ecological systems that enrich peoples’ lives; contributing to the alleviation of poverty by enhancing the sustainable use of natural resources, and building the capacity and promoting conservation work among Cambodian citizens. NatureLife Cambodia is looking for a suitable Cambodian applicant to fill the position below.

Finance Officer

Reporting to: Chief Executive officers (CEO) and Senior Adm/Finance Officer

Working relationships: NatureLife Cambodia staff, staff of national, provincial, and district government departments, NGOs, researchers, and research institutes.

The overall purpose of the job:

To be responsible for co-managing the NatureLife Cambodia accounting system and budget follow-up for all Lomphat’s projects. Be a financial controller and assist the Senior Adm/Finance Officer and CEO in all the matters relating to the financial report of the organization.

Duties
  • Processing day-to-day organization accounts
  • Proficiency with double-entry accounting systems.
  • Monitoring and manage the overall budget (expenditures, incomes) of the projects, including the separate distribution and movement of several donor fund sources
  • Contribute to draft budget and revise the budget
  • Prepare regular and periodic accurate, professional, and complete the project financial reports for the management team, and donors.
  • Check and ensure that all procurements processes and expenditures of the project are by NatureLife Cambodia financial policy and what donors require. This includes ensuring the support documents to be obtained for all financial transactions
  • Be responsible for maintaining bank accounts, transactions & transfers, payments, expenditures, receipts, etc.
  • Assist in communicating with donors about a financial issue
  • Assist in drafting and improving the financial policies
  • Support in consolidate monthly organization accounts
  • Support in liaising with auditors to ensure the annual external auditing is carried out on time
  • Support in developing the organization financial report for submission to government agencies
  • Carry out any other financial assignments as requested by the CEO and Senior Adm/Finance Officer
  • Support administrative works request from line manager and colleague
Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or related decree
  • 4 years working in the field of Finance.
  • Financial planning and analysis skill
  • Very Good in written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge and experience in dealing with taxation.
  • Advance computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Internet, E-mail).
  • Ability to translate and professional communication in English with donors
  • The ability to successfully perform the job functions with a limited degree of supervision.
  • Highly organized, punctual, detail-oriented, and professional.
  • Teamwork, Friendly, outgoing personality and works well with others.
