JOB RESPONSIBILITY:

Non-Fuel Retail Partnerships & Alliances

Responsible for the establishment of Non-fuel Retail partnerships to provide back-court solutions for the network including partnerships and alliances with convenience stores, quick-serve restaurants, coffee offerings, banking services and car workshop/service providers with the objective of providing a complete, consistent and high quality offer to consumers, increasing value proposition of the gas station sites to station owners, addressing the growing demand for service and convenience, and leading consumers to associate Chevron gas stations with a family of leading brands.

Loyalty & Payments

Responsible for the assessment, development, execution and implementation of in-country Loyalty program, partnerships and alliances that support our objectives for a differentiated Proprietary Loyalty Program with preferred partner(s) (which may include conglomerates, grocers, hypermarkets, department stores, banks, food & beverage outlets, convenience stores, mobile service providers, etc.), growth through strategic partners, improved technology and customized consumer offers, and ultimately leadership in loyalty marketing.

Payments

Responsible for the in country activation, commercial growth and partnerships within payments program. To team with regional IF&L Consumer Experience teams, regional Loyalty & Payments Lead, Develop and deploy in-country payments initiatives, offers and communications. Monitor performance for effectiveness of program in consumer engagement and business generation. Coordinate with regional team and local stakeholders and business partners to implement innovative retail payment solutions and ensure proper operations.

Duties
  • This requires:
  • Understanding of local market non-fuel retail landscape
  • Identification, screening and short listing of high potential partners
  • Development of roadmap for partner contact
  • Partner engagement and generation of interest to pursue
  • Due diligence and development of business case
  • Review of network with partners for identification preferred sites
  • Review of partner NFR offer formats and concepts for location compatibility and revenue potential
  • Leadership of cross-functional working team (retail, Asset Optimization etc.) for high priority partners
  • Negotiations with partners on the commercial terms and the contract to reach agreement to advance the interest of Chevron and retailers
  • Manage NFR contracts, monitor the validity and the terms &conditions’ compliance.
  • Work with Finance to ensure the revenue collection is done timely and correctly.
  • Coordinate with Brand team to launch marketing co-promotion activities between Chevron and partners to generate more revenue and drive traffic to the station
  • Launching of partnership and ongoing support including building relationships with retailer to drive buy-in
  • Coordination of site design to optimize for capex, opex and traffic flow, and ensuring seamless site conversion
  • Training of retail and support staff to leverage partnership to drive network and volume growth
  • Continuous focus on execution of partnership on both sides to ensure effective deployment
  • Development and coordination of promotional and tactical activities to drive volume
  • Ongoing identification and development of new partners
  • Scanning for competitive threats to partnerships and development and execution of response
  • Detailed scorecards and tools to effectively monitor performance throughout the network (Current slate of existing or potential partners includes local/regional/global brands such as McDonalds, 7-Eleven, Tops, Black Canyon, Jollibee, Gloria Jeans, Tesco, Dunkin Donuts, etc.)
  • Responsible for the growth of Star Mart via licensing or franchising (if applicable) with the objective of providing a complete, consistent and high quality offer to consumers, increasing value proposition of the gas station sites to station owners, addressing the growing demand for service and convenience.
  • Responsible to develop and grow Coffee Plus Franchise program for new sites and contribute towards the brand becoming the brand of choice for both potential investors and consumers.
  • Develop and strengthen the franchise program for Star Mart and Coffee Plus
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Franchisee specific business plans and budgets
  • Protect Brand integrity via implementation and measurement of Standards of Operations Programs
  • Identify and communicate formal training needs to learning and development for training intervention
  • Ensure implementation of national marketing campaigns. Enforce correct use of all supporting elements i.e. point of sale, premiums etc.
  • Manage franchise agreements, monitor the validity and the terms &conditions’ compliance.
  • Work with AO on the design, construction and maintenance of the shop
  • Coordinate with Retail Automation to install the POS to all shops
  • Work with Finance to ensure the revenue collection is done timely and correctly
  • Responsible for the brand identity and the standardization of the operation of franchisee shops
  • Loyalty & Payments
  • This requires:
  • Understanding local market loyalty and competitive landscape
  • Adopt regional loyalty framework and adapt to meet in country requirements
  • Lead overall loyalty program design to ensure program attractiveness and drive acquisition
  • Research and short listing of high potential partners and develop roadmap
  • Development of offer and leadership of cross-functional working team (retail, retail automation, cards, banks, etc.) for high priority partners
  • Negotiations with partners to reach final contract
  • Training of retail and support staff to execute program elements
  • Launching of program and ongoing support
  • Scanning for competitive threats to loyalty program and development and execution of response (Current slate of existing or potential partners includes local/regional/global brands such as GRAB, Lazada, Shopee, Berjaya, S&M Malls, Tops, WINGS, Aeon, SIA, Bangkok Bank, Food Panda etc.)
  • Payment
  • Understanding local market of payment technology landscape, including but not limited to QR Code payment, eWallet/mobile payment, tap and go, co-branded credit/debit card etc.
  • Research and short listing of high potential partners
  • Brand & Marketing
  • Responsible to develop brand and marketing communications to support loyalty and NFR. These include;
  • Brand awareness activities on loyalty program (s) in place
  • Developing promotions relating to loyalty programs
  • Executing promotions covering loyalty program including working with strategic partners where needed
  • Developing marketing plan together with Brand & Marketing specialist for the market
  • Developing cross promotions with NFR partners including C store and Coffee plus where needed
  • Identifying opportunities to grow brand awarness in the payment space and executing these plans
  • Developing promotions with strategic payment partners
  • Conducting lookback and identifying key learnings from various activities
  • Providing reporting updates on key initiatives, KPI’s etc covering loyalty & NFR as and when needed
  • Provide support for local initiatives when requested including brand activities, marketing programs, investor support, etc.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, diploma – Marketing or Business is sufficient.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing or business development
  • Fluency English both in writing and speaking.
  • Good communication and negotiation skill with all levels
  • Strong commitment and accountabilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skill.
  • Self-motivated and team building capabilities.
  • Computer literacy MS Word, MS Excel, power point and Internet/Email.
