FH Cambodia is seeking for tow (02) qualified Cambodian candidates to fill in the position of Sponsorship Translator based in Phnom Penh.

The Purpose of Position:

The Sponsorship Translator helps the sponsorship team to ensure the high standard quality of sponsorship communications produced and sent to sponsors and child partners in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Administer receiving and sending mails out in a way that enables the Sponsorship department and the field staff to have their full turnaround time shared out for Sponsor Letter process and allows sponsors to receive communication letters, i.e. Introductory/child reply letter, Christmas Card, getting to Know You Letter whichever is necessary, and vice versa, in a timely manner to establish the mutual transformation between partner sponsor and child/community.

Duties
  • Key Result #1: Ensure sponsor mail and child reply letter with high quality (50%)
  • Ensure all correspondences in and out are accurately recorded in the logbook.
  • Translate all sponsor mails into Khmer, all child reply letters and other correspondences into English with high quality.
  • Manage correspondences process of delivery/reception to/from the communities through the field staff.
  • Coordinate sending sponsor mails to sponsored children, child reply letters and other correspondences to sponsors on a timely basis through field offices to the country office. Make sure that a correspondence control form of each of the sponsor mails is returned to the country office by enclosing it with the child reply letters and other relevant correspondences.
  • Translate correspondence, reports and other sponsorship related documentation from/to English from/to local language, and ensure that correspondence is in alignment with FH’s Safeguarding Policy.
  • Key Result #2: Ensure sponsorship business is in compliance with the standard guidelines (50%)
  • Ensure information flow to/from the communities is efficient and in accordance to the sponsorship guidelines and requirements.
  • Work with Sponsorship Manager and Sponsorship Relation Officer to ensure that correspondence packages are received and sent in a secure manner, protecting child information, from/to SDOs through WorldLink, NEO Connect, mail couriers (DHL, FedEx, etc.).
  • In consultation with the Sponsorship Manager and Sponsorship Relation Officer, delegate correspondence and report requests to the assigned field staff.
  • Provide feedback and training to field staff on the key guidelines to ensure quality information on letters, photos and reports.
  • Other related tasks as requested by Child Information and Protection Coordinator.
  • File each child folder (child personal file) properly and put all required documents in the folder. Required documents are: completed consent agreement form, initial and updated CHs, and copy of child’s birth certificate or copy of any document certified child’s identity.

  • Administrative experience and prior experience in Data Entry/biography preparation;
  • Willing to work in a team, have a positive, and helpful attitude.
  • Education Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English Language or a relevant field preferred and Experience working in translation in child sponsorship programs preferred.
  • Supervisor Responsibilities: This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • Language: Proficient in spoken and written English and Khmer. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
