Job Summary

The National Sponsorship Officer works closely with village sponsorship co-workers to support in providing effective performance standard for the improvement and collect relevant data, information, and ensure they are compliant with organizational policies & sponsorship guidelines with the aim of attracting and retaining sponsors.

The employee, by keeping in mind the overall purpose of the Sponsorship office in attracting and keeping sponsors as a valuable means to cover the financing of the family life in the organization prepares reports and other correspondences to the desired effect.

The job incumbent is required to properly accomplish the project sponsorship activities, form a positive and close relationship with sponsored children, keep the long-term relation with sponsors by providing progressive information, Provide reliable information to the national sponsorship department and give swift replies, ensure the implementation of the sponsorship policy support document, follows information on the general activities of the project and pass relevant information for the sponsorship department consumption.

Duties
  • International Donor Service (50%)
  • Acts as an intermediary between sponsors and children or programs to safeguard the respective rights and interests of both groups.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and security with respect to records such as children’s biography, sponsors’ data, and other sensitive information.
  • Support and coordinate with the village sponsorship co-worker on mid-year letters, end-of-year letters, child's profile, Christmas cards, and photos to ensure all sponsorship requirements are met.
  • To be responsible for producing child profile texts, good quality child mid-year reports, photos checked and child end-of-year reports to ensure all the storytelling technical writings which have been required in the sponsorship guidelines are met.
  • Following up on the status of children, whenever there is a change and updating it in their personal files (consent letter, child profile, new child admission form, declaration forms, child birth certificate, and other child-relevant letters).
  • Weekly check on DSApp and upload all child profile texts, child mid-year letters, and mid-year child photos in DSApp and also download it from Sharepoint.
  • Collect all children's letters and parcels from the Post office.
  • To be responsible for uploading child & village digital photos and videos in the IG Dam program
  • To be responsible for revising and editing the title, and caption of child's photos and videos if necessary.
  • Field visit If the village co-worker is not able to produce a storyboard or produce any video (assigned by the supervisor)
  • Submit monthly sponsorship report and work plan every end of the month
  • Evaluate sponsorship work for your responsible project
  • Performs other related and complementary activities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
  • Support & Capacity Development (25%)
  • Support and developmental activities through building relationships between children and sponsors
  • Assist the Sponsorship Director to guide Sponsorship Program Co-workers, SOS mothers, and relevant co-workers in the responsible project involved in sponsorship activities and how important sponsorship.
  • Take responsibility to raise awareness among the sponsorship team on SOS Child Protection Policy principles and assist relevant staff to prevent and protect children from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence, and discrimination
  • Guides, handholds, and supports youth leaders for SPO lab contents, mid-year, and end-of-year reports.
  • To support the PSPOs in building and enhancing sponsorship service operations focusing on children's well-being and the transformation of registered children, their families, and communities and sponsors through collaborating with relevant co-workers in planning and reporting to the Sponsorship Director for the updating.
  • Be a supportive superior by building a culture of trust and learning;
  • Reporting (20%)
  • Provides required sponsorship contents of the children to the Sponsorship Program Co-worker if required.
  • Records and manages the digital copies of all the sponsorship-related documents/contents in the official digital storage drive.
  • Submit monthly sponsorship report and work plan every end of the month
  • Evaluate sponsorship work for your responsible project
  • Performs other related and complementary activities as assigned by the immediate supervisor
  • Uses software platforms and systems, including DSapp,
  • Other (5%)
  • Assists National Sponsorship Director/ Deputy Sponsorship Director with additional assignments at the National Office as and when required/requested
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested with an appropriate sense of humor, positive and professional attitude, and team spirit.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; preferably in marketing, public relations, business management, communication, or a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience with NGOs or Previous experience working in or knowledge of the international development sector
  • Previous experience working in or knowledge of the issues associated with the development and implementation of a sponsorship or membership program,
  • Computer literacy in MS Office such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Video Editing, Photoshop, and database programs
  • Good facilitation, diligence and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Khmer is a must.
  • Required Competencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Khmer
  • Strong motivation and ability to work and deliver under short deadlines
  • Multitasking and able to manage multicultural stakeholders
  • Ability to understand new terminology and concepts easily and to synthesize information from different sources into a coherent document
  • Skill in achieving results through persuading, influencing, problem solving and conflict resolution, and working with others as a team/partners;
  • Maturity and confidence in dealing with senior and high-ranking members of the Government and other international and national and sub-national institutions;
  • Displays sensitivity and adaptability to different cultures, genders, religions, races, nationalities, and age groups;
  • Good team player, and self-starter, has the ability to work under minimum supervision and maintain good relationships
  • MS Office skills: expert in MS Word and PowerPoint and good knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Technology skills such as Business intelligence and data analysis software management, Cloud-based data access and sharing software, data mining software such as Google Analytics, etc. will be an added advantage.
