The INRM project of Department of Biodiversity (INRM/DBD) objective is to promote integrated landscape management for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, natural resources and ecosystem services in the northern part of Cambodia.

The intent is to generate multiple landscape benefits including effective conservation of globally threatened species and high conservation forests, improve management of natural resources and ensure the maintenance of ecosystem services. It is aimed specifically at improving the management of protected areas and ensuring their financial sustainability, enhancing the productivity of production and agricultural lands and improving local livelihoods. Increasing demand for forest, agricultural and wildlife products, crop land and agriculture monocultures, and infrastructure and transportation development has accelerated in recent years thereby, rapidly changing the landscape with consequential threats to biodiversity and ecosystem services.

The project is thus aimed at addressing these multiple threats by harmonizing socio-economic development, sustainable management of land, forests, natural resources and biodiversity conservation through an integrated management approach, with water as a catalyst, in Northern Landscapes of Cambodia. To achieve these, actions will be taken to – strengthen policies and institutional capacity at the national and sub- national levels to ensure the integration of biodiversity and ecosystem services in sector and sub- national socio-economic development planning.

INRM/DBD project is recruiting the following position to provides overall management and technical support services to the project, under the supervision of the designated project manager in DBD.

Video Editor

Position Summary

Assignment: Video Editing for 10 years Celebration of International Day for Biodiversity in Cambodia

Report to: Project Coordinator

Project Coordinator Individual Contractor (IC)

Duration: From December 2024 to January 2025

Scope of Work

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the INRM/DBD Project Manager, the selected service provider/institution/private firm will be working closely with Project Coordinator and relevant institutions/stakeholders to complete the assignments.

The contractor has to design and produce a short video based on the theme of the International Day of Biodiversity 2023 in order to promote public awareness and campaign on Agro-biodiversity, Biodiversity friendly agricultural systems etc. The contractor has to finalize result outcomes and activity report including files drive in original soft copy and submit to INRM/DBD’s Project for review and approval by Project Manager.

Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • The organization:
  • Based in Cambodia;
  • Skill in design and producing video and managing communication work;
  • Preferred experiences in work with national institutions, NGOs for media and campaigns in the field of environmental management and biodiversity conservation;
  • Preferred experience with civil society and media.
  • Experiences
  • Experience in design and develop video on environmental related activities;
  • Preferred experience in video, and social media applications includes familiarity with professional preproduction/planning;
  • Studio and field production, scriptwriting, photography, and relevant software proficiency;
  • Preferred experience in post-production entails digital video editing, still and motion graphics design, and video compression for multiple delivery platforms.
  • Competencies
  • Analytical skills and ability in development and create and develop multimedia (audio/video) content external promotional social;
  • Videos, corporate training and other enterprise-wide projects;
  • Ability to prepare script, storyboard, media work related environmental terminology and its concepts.
  • Analysis/synthesize information from different sources into video;
  • Displays sensitivity and adaptability to different cultures, genders, religions, races, nationalities and age groups;
  • Good team player, self-starter, has ability to work under minimum
  • Supervision and maintain good relationships.
  • Language
  • Excellent communication and writing skills both in English and Khmer.
