Education Project Manager (01 position)

Position Summary

Contract type: Fixed Term Duration Contract (36 months),
Salary and Benefits: Annual gross salary starting from 9,000 USD - 19,000 USD per annum with a competitive benefits package

Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Education:
  • Bachelor degree in Management- or Education studies and/or other relevant fields.
  •  Essential:
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experiences in project management preferably in the field of education.
  • Experience of working in the Cambodian education sector
  • A clear understanding of the value of volunteering in the education sector
  • Experience of working within a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) and with volunteers.
  • Experience in planning and managing projects together with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in delivering expected project outputs and outcomes in challenging contexts with short deadlines.
  • Experience of budget management and resource allocation.
  • Experience in monitoring, evaluation and report writing.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in Khmer and English with ability to vary communication content depending on audience and have the confidence to represent VSO in official meetings with MoEYS and development partners.
  • Excellent skills in building effective work relationships built on trust and mutual accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and inspire diverse project team located in multiple provinces.
  • Excellent coordination- and planning skills with experience of delivering results under high pressure.
  • Ability to analyse situations and finding innovative solutions to possible challenges.
  • Ability to lead projects in a flexible manor while being open to change, uncertainty and new opportunities.
  • Desirable:

National Volunteer – Communications (01 position0

Position Summary

Monthly Allowance: $383 per month

Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Education:
  • Qualification in Professional Communication/ Department of Media and Communication or other related field.
  • Essential:
  • Experience in communications and generating content for social media, either through education, work or volunteering
  • Experience working within an International development organisation or charity is an advantage
  • Interest in media and communications (including social media)
  • Interest in politics and current affairs
  • Innovative, tech-savvy and experienced using key social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube) to engage with different stakeholders
  • Good organisational and research skills
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Good command of English and Khmer languages in both speaking and writing
  • Fully IT literate
  • Commitment to volunteering for at least 6 months

Teacher Training Advisors - Regional Hubs (05 positions)

Position Summary

Monthly Allowance: $383 per month

Contract type: National Volunteer, based at Regional Hub Levels:

  1. Cambodia, Kandal Regional Hub (will cover the additional provinces of Svay Rieng, Prey Veng, Kampong Speu and Phnom Penh and Koh Kong)
  2. Cambodia, Takeo Regional Hub (will cover the additional provinces of Kep, Kampot, Preah Sihanouk)
  3. Cambodia, Siem Reap Regional Hub (will cover the additional provinces of Kampong Thom, Preah Vihear and Oddar MeanChey)
  4. Cambodia, Battambang Regional Hub (will cover the additional provinces of Kampong Chhnang, Pursat and Pailin, Banteay Meanchey)
  5. Cambodia, Kampong Cham Regional Hub (will cover the additional provinces of Kratie, Steung Treng, Tboung Khmum, Ratanakiri and Mondulkiri)

Teacher Training Advisors - National Level (01 position)

Position Summary

Monthly Allowance: $383 per month

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • This on-the-job technical assistance means demand-led capacity development of NIE and GSED personnel in the following areas:
  • The new Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) curriculum;
  • Inclusive and learner-centred instruction and assessment, including the use of ICT in education, 21st century library services, and project-based learning;
  • Sensitization on Career Guidance and Counselling and school-industry partnerships with the private sector;
  • Leading the design of the programme for the professional development of teachers;
  • Planning, costing, and delivering the programme for the professional development of teachers that comprises a blend of face-to-face training, on-the-job support and self-learning;
  • Coordination, monitoring and evaluation of regional activities related to the professional development of teachers;
  • Effective collaboration, communication and knowledge sharing, and the facilitation thereof, with and between project stakeholders at national, regional and school levels.
  •  The Teacher Training Advisor at national level will be based at NIE in Phnom Penh, but is expected to conduct occasional field visits to the regional “hubs” and to some of the 50 Upper Secondary Schools within the region.

Position Summary

  • School Based Management (SBM), comprising teaching and learning, school administration, financial management, and human resource management.
  • leading the design of the programme for the professional development of school leaders and librarians, based on MoEYS’ SBM manuals, and including innovations such as 21st century libraries, career guidance and counselling, and ICT in education;
  • planning, costing, and delivering the programme for the professional development of school leaders and librarians that comprises a blend of face-to-face training, on-the-job support and self-learning;
  • coordination, monitoring and evaluation of regional activities related to the professional development of school leaders and librarians;
  • effective collaboration, communication and knowledge sharing, and the facilitation thereof, with and between project stakeholders at national, regional and school levels;
