Position Summary Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
Part time morning (7:30 am – 12:30 pm, Monday to Friday)
Duration: 1 Year Contract
- Teach Science Subject and Health Education subject to secondary students (Grade 7, 8 and 9)
- Provide a safe and warm learning environment
- Prepare weekly lesson plans, homework, quizzes, and exams
- Correct and grade student work
- Assess and evaluate student knowledge
- Report and discuss students’ progress with co-teachers and academic supervior
- Provide remedial help to weak students
- Prepare Term Report Card
- Conduct Parent Teacher Conferences
- Participate and support activities which promote student success
- Support school events
- Devote time to extra-curricular activities
- Share best teaching practices with colleagues
- Follow school policies and procedures
- Other tasks as required
- Degree in Secondary Education (major in English)
- Teaching License or Certificates
- Minimum 1 year teaching experience at the secondary level

Lower Primary Homeroom Teacher (1 Position)

Homeroom teacher to Grade 2 students
Teach the 4 main core subjects English, Math, Science and Social Studies and other curricular subjects such as art and craft, library, P/E and computer.
- Prepare weekly lesson plans, homework, quizzes and exams
- Correct and grade student work
- Assess and evaluate student knowledge
- Prepare Mid Term Progress Report and End of Term Report Card
- Conduct Parent Teacher Conferences (3 times per year)
- Conduct Science experiment based on topics taught
- Provide a safe and warm learning environment
- Report and discuss students’ progress with staff and admin
- Provide remedial help to weak students
- Participate and support activities which promote student success
- Support school events
- Devote time to extra-curricular activities

Teacher Assistant (3 Positions)
Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
- Welcoming students into the class
- Take students’ attendant
- Carry out other duties such as Sleep Room Duty, Lunch Duty, Gate Duty, lunch time supervision of students, Playground Duty as requested and scheduled during regular working hours by Administration
- Work with the Head Teacher to instruct the set curriculum
- Observe the teaching styles, methods, and language used by the Head Teacher in an effort to improve personal.
- Support the Head Teacher by taking reading groups, assisting in lessons, behavioral management, classroom organization, and preparation of materials as discussed with the Head Teacher.
- At all times treat students and teachers with respect and courtesy, behaving in a professional manner.
- Provide care and ensure the safety and well-being of every child in the school
- Be responsible, in conjunction with Head Teachers, to ensure adequate supervision of a safe recreation and play period for the students during class break times
- Speak and behave in professional manners towards all parents, students and staff of M-TEL International School
- Assist classroom teacher with the organization of activities (i.e. nursery rhymes, photocopy)
- Be available for, attend any staff meetings on Saturday mornings
- Be ready to translate for parents during Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTC) at the end of each term which generally occur outside of working hours on Saturday
- Attend all school events that happen during regular school year such as Family Sport Day, Graduation and Recognition Day, Khmer New Year, Christmas, Halloween…
- Treat each student with care and fairness
- Talk to students with gentle voice but with firmness
- Make themselves available to speak with parents before or after classes, or when called upon by the school management
- Maintain facilities, resources, and materials in his/her classroom and the school
- Perform other administrative tasks as required by school
