USAID/Cambodia Employ Initiative - Objective Leads
Chemonics is looking for objective leads in the following areas:
- Workforce Development Objective Lead
- Design and oversee workforce development projects in collaboration with USAID and local partners, ensuring alignment with project objectives and priorities.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on workforce development strategies, including skills training, job placement, and career advancement, emphasizing supporting youth entering the workforce.
- Conduct assessments to identify workforce needs and opportunities for intervention, working closely with stakeholders to develop tailored solutions that align to identified labor force needs.
- Build capacity of local organizations, institutions, and government agencies to implement sustainable workforce development initiatives.
- Monitor project progress and outcomes, collecting data and reporting on key performance indicators to USAID and other stakeholders.
- Youth Employment Objective Lead
- Develop and implement youth employment initiatives in collaboration with USAID and local partners, focusing on skills development and job placement for young Cambodians.
- Provide technical expertise on the development and implementation of youth employment strategies, including apprenticeships, entrepreneurship, and vocational training.
- Conduct assessments to understand the needs and aspirations of young people, designing tailored interventions to support their transition to the workforce, and the needs of industry partners to create sustainable employment pathways.
- Build partnerships with employers, educational institutions, and youth-serving organizations to create pathways to employment for young people, including career orientation, counseling, and employability preparation activities.
- Deliver training and capacity building activities for youth and youth service providers, empowering them with the skills and resources needed to succeed in the job market.
- Bachelor’s degree in related technical fields, Master’s degree preferred
- At least five-eight years of progressive professional experience in workforce development, organizational development, youth development, or another relevant field
- Extensive experience in development and implementing donor-funded activities and achieving intended results according to project objectives
- Demonstrated ability to establish and develop working relationships and a high level of trust with public/private organizations as well as prepare regular and ad hoc reports, activity documentation and briefing papers
- Demonstrated versatility, leadership, and integrity
- Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) are required to effectively implement, analyze, monitor, and manage activity goals, inputs, outcomes, and achievements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Khmer
- Bachelor’s degree in related technical fields, Master’s degree preferred
