Supply and Logistics Officer
Position Summary Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
POSITION REPORTS TO: Finance Director
TIME COMMITMENT: 5 days per week
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Supply and Logistics Officer will be responsible for the day to day management of supplies, equipment and other materials related to ATEC* Biodigester, ensuring stock levels are kept at adequate levels. The role will arrange and coordinate transportation of products, including quality checks, ensuring stock is available on time.
The role is also responsible for developing and implementing efficient procurement processes that comply with the ATEC* Financial and Accounting Policy and local legal regulations.
- Seek potential suppliers
- Communicate, negotiate and recommend execution of contracts for the purchase of supplies, services equipment, and other materials
- Assess purchase requisition
- Quote prices and quality of any service or product to be purchased
- Give recommendations about purchases to the committee
- Maintain the bidders' list, vendors' file, and such other records as are needed for the efficient operation of the purchasing function
- Conduct inspection of all supplies, services and equipment purchased, ensuring compliance to specifications
- Ensure that materials for any biodigester installation are available on time
- Maintain efficient procurement process
- Facilitate the transportation of products
- Product stock reports weekly and monthly
- Maintain stock/inventory register, ensuring consistently kept up-to-date and correct
- Coordinate importation of stock with Agent/s
- QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven project management, or supply chain, experience
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong budgeting and numerical skills
- Nice to have:
- Experience in renewable energy and/or agriculture
