Social Workers
Hope for Cambodian Children Foundation (HfCCF) in Balat Village, Battambang, is looking to employ Cambodian National Social Workers who would be willing to work with a highly motivated welfare team.

- Ensure that the children’s files, case notes and children’s “big yellow book” are kept up to date. Make sure that each child’s documents are completed including Birth Certificates, ID card and other documents as required by DoSVY and MoSVY.
- Ensure that all of the children’s information is always kept confidential and that the information is only ever discussed with authorised persons.
- Ensure all children receive career counselling and other life skills coaching.
- Attend and actively participate in your weekly social team meetings.
- Ensure that you report any concerns or issues that you have about the children or their families under our care.
- Do regularly field visit of the Outreach Program, Transition House Program, and Skills-based training program and ensure that case note and assessment forms are completed after the visit.
- Liaise regularly with teachers (HfCCF and Community) and HfCCF’s Nurse to understand any concerns with the children and where possible offer welfare support.
- Provide individually tailored counselling and social support services to the children and their Families.
- Understand the Community Centre’s emergency procedures.
- Maintain a professional working relationship with all of HfCCF’s referral partners: DoSVY, CCWC, commune leaders and our Cambodian Advisory Committee. Please inform our Cambodian Director or the In-Country Director of any community changes that will affect HfCCF or the management of our community programs.
- Work with NGO partners to coordinate skills training courses and job placement for the outreach children/teenagers.
- An applicant must:
- Hold a degree or diploma in social work, community development or psychology
- Have experiences in social work or NGO for at least 3 years
- Be able to speak and write English well
- Empathetic nature to adequately understand beneficiaries’ predicaments and provide the necessary support
- Excellent organizational skills to successfully prioritize the many different aspects of the work
- Strong critical thinking to objectively evaluate each case and determine the best path of action
- Patience to successfully deal with complex cases and clients who may not progress as expected
- Superior emotional intelligence and maturity to cope with the emotional demands of the work
- Effective analysis, assessment and planning skills.
