Happy Chandara School was created by the French Organization “Toutes à l’Ecole”. This school is supported by donations from individuals and foundations from European countries, including France, Belgium and Luxembourg. Happy Chandara School is composed of a Kindergarten , a primary, a secondary and a high school as well as a boarding school. Our school offers high quality free education to underprivileged young girls coming from the Prek Thmey area, located about 20 km south of Phnom Penh. Now, approximately 1200 students follow the Khmer program and benefit from additional courses such as foreign languages and IT classes.

Missions

  • To ensure that the students fully access to higher education
  • S/he will be in permanent contact with families, community and social services
  • Co-responsible of the HCS students and their families with social colleagues and the stakeholders
  • To prevent students from drop out
Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Job Responsibilities
  • Work with School life on student absenteeism and take intervention
  • Prepare a weekly work plan of daily work
  • Work with parents to maximize their understanding of the school functioning
  • Identify problem in the family and support based on the specific need
  • Work with others units to plan and coordinate work particularly school psychologists, health team, pedagogical team, career guidance and other projects
  • Organize the food distribution for the monthly distribution, the Khmer New Year and other distribution based on requirement
  • Establish relationship with other stakeholders that work the similar field in order to refer cases if need
  • Build good relations with local authorities
  • Daily report, monthly report, quarterly report

Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Profile required
  • Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or relevant fields
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in community
  • Good command in Khmer and English; French is plus

Teacher of Chinese

Position Summary

Main Missions

The Chinese teacher is teaching, developing and promoting the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of children, according to age, ability and aptitude. S/he creates daily lesson plans, conducts classroom discussions, administer and grade tests, assign and review homework, and complete individual student assessments.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Chinese Language
  • Teach Chinese to Grade 4 and 5 students according to the teaching plan given by management
  • Brainstorming Chinese language activities to improve students’ communication ability
  • Enhance students’ language development regarding listening, speaking, reading and writing in
  • Chinese Chinese Culture
  • Contribute to developing extra-curricular Chinese cultural activities (e.g. Setting up Chinese Club)
  • Show and share about Chinese culture (Calligraphy, Chinese Martial Arts, Chess, Drawing, Food etc.)
  • Organize Chinese cultural activities on and off campus (e.g. playing Chinese movies or visiting Chinese cultural heritage in Cambodia)
  • Engage actively in the school’s activities as needed. Any other task or project assigned by management.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Profile required:
  • Bachelor of Arts in Chinese or relevant majors
  • Teaching experience is preferred.
  • Experience of studying or living in China is a plus.
  • Have a good knowledge of Chinese language and culture.
