Social Worker
Location: Toul Krosang, Rokar Kpous
Hours of work :
- 8:00 am – 12:00 am Monday to Friday
- 1.00 pm – 5.00 pm Monday to Friday
Salary : Negotiable based on experience and knowledge
- Residential Care Program
- Ensure that all children are provided essential life education including relationships, physical development, body hygiene, ethics and morality, household chores etc.
- Be responsible for case management including providing counseling, conducting family assessment for new referral and reintegration, following up cases after the reintegration, case update as well as life and career planning with participation of children and their families if possible.
- Provide necessary trainings or refresher courses to children under your management.
- Take lead and responsibility to improve children’s positive behavior, respect, gratitude and morality of children and increase their participation in all Sunrise activities.
- Empower the Child Committee to be children’s representative through providing counseling, capacity building and assisting them in implementing their roles and responsibilities. Regular meeting should be held to help them to overcome their challenges.
- Ensure that children always attend school, actively join in centre based learning and other activities including sport, art/craft; computer, music/dancing, and etc, keep record of their attendance and report children’s absenteeism to Manager and relevant staff.
- Ensure that small family meeting is held on weekly basis on Friday night and children are encouraged to express their feeling and ideas and provide meeting report with topics discussed to Manager.
- Work closely with Facility officer to ensure that children are given food with appropriate nutrition by making monthly menu with consultation with cooks and regularly check the kitchen area to ensure good sanitation and hygiene.
- With Facility officer to ensure that house parents respect Child Rights, Child Protection Policy, Code of Conduct and Job Description and implement their daily routines and children respect and implement their daily cleaning rosters and other household chores.
- Actively participate in problem-solving with house parents and immediately report any misconducts, problems or breaking of rules to management.
- Ensure that children are provided equal opportunity and fairness (equal love, care and provisions) without discrimination.
- Regularly check children’s sleeping areas and toilets to ensure good sanitation and hygiene.
- Community Outreach Program
- Undertake post reunification follow up and provide report on education, safety, security, emotion, health and income, as per Sunrise policy and reunification policy.
- Update information of all reintegrated cases.
- Follow up young adults who study vocational training such as result of study, attachment, health and providing counseling and help them with their needs or problems.
- Conduct some needed trainings including Child Right, Hygiene, Domestic Violence and Health Education… etc.
- Ensure that all cases are documented, scanned and kept in safe and order at all time.
- REPORTING AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a written monthly report to management, provided to management by 2nd day of each month. List all activities completed, report any child problems, or other health/other issues with children and plan for next month.
- Immediately report any serious incidents or other problems, including accidents, illness, injuries, abnormal sexual activity or abuse, fighting, or damaged or broken property. If management not at the centre, telephone management as required.
- Ensure children at all times are protected from physical, emotional and sexual abuse, and immediately report any suspected abuse by children or staff.
- Protect the privacy and confidentiality of children by not disclosing any private information to others such as serious health problems, or other personal child information.
- Work as a team with management team in order to facilitate activities in the itinerary.
- Maintain good relations with all departments/program including facility & residential care, community development and education.
- Attend weekly management meeting and monthly staff meetings in Sunrise as necessary.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- With a minimum of 2 years working with adults and children
- Female only age above 25
- Possess Bachelor degree in Social Work, Development, or relevant social science majors
- Good in English, both spoken and written
- Be able to stay in the center (Free accommodation)
- Commit to the job for long term
- Use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, internet, email
- Be willing to work with disable kids and under pressure.
- Must have passion, empathy, sensitivity, problem solving skills, communications skills, and ability to work in teams.
