Social Mobilizer, GEP (3 Positions)
Position Overview
The Social Mobilizer (SM) is the primary point of contact for girls in the Girls’ Education Program. She facilitates life skills sessions for the girls and provides mentoring to them in the form of group and individual meetings, as well as with home visits. The Social Mobilizer works with parents/caretakers and community members to educate them about the importance of girls’ education by facilitating parent workshops and/or holding community events. The majority of her time is spent with the girls at their schools. This position reports to the Girls’ Education Program Officer. The Social Mobilizer has no direct reports.
- Required:
- Secondary school degree (University experience or degree, preferred).
- 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated experience and/or interest working with and or counseling adolescent girls.
- Good interpersonal skills and a team player.
- Strong organizational and planning skills including the ability to monitor progress of program implementation.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and take initiative.
- Prior success working closely and building relationships with diverse groups of people.
- Desire and ability to spend a significant majority of time traveling and providing direct support to girls at the school, community, or home.
- Fluency in language spoken by girls.
- Familiarity or experience with gender issues, girls’ education and/or community development preferred.
- Female candidates strongly preferred.
Technical Facilitator, GEP (4 Positions)
Location: Thmor Kuol District
Position Overview
The GEP Technical Facilitator will be primarily responsible for supporting the government officer to scale up the life skills in the secondary and high schools in the assigned target by building the capacity of government officers including but not limited to conducting training on life skills for the government teachers, building the capacity of the District Resource Person (DRP) and school director to be able to support and coach teachers for the long term sustainability. This position will involve frequent travel to the assigned target schools, as well as regular facilitation with DRPs and teachers, the school director, the Technical Subject Leader, and the District Of Education Officer (DOE) for implementing the GEP scale-up approaches for life skill education. The position will report directly to the Girls’ Education Program Officer/Field Manager.

The salary range for this position will be determined based upon the experience of the candidate hired. - DRP and Teacher Capacity Building
- Conduct periodic lesson observation, in target schools and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring support as agreed plan including demonstrating and supporting DRP to provide effective coaching and mentoring to teachers.
- Support DRP in organizing quarterly Professional Learning Communities (PLC) at the district level including DRPs, and teachers from different schools.
- Support DRP to organize quarterly technical reflections at the school level with teachers, and School Management.
- Support PO to coordinate annual program reflection meetings at the provincial level with all district DRPs.
- Develop TOT of life skills education
- Support DRP to cascade life skills training to teachers and support DRPs in conducting refresher training for existing teachers as needed.
- Develop TOT for DRP training on life skills
- Conduct ToT training life skills education in lower secondary schools to National Trainer, DRPs.
- Conduct refresher training for DRP based on the need
- Develop TOT for DRP training on mentoring and coaching package
- Conduct DRP training on mentoring and coaching package
- Program Planning, Implementation
- Support PO to identify new potential target for project scale up
- Provide input to the refresh contextualized training packages led by the technical team.
- Support PO to prepare letters to PoE, DoEs, and teachers to join RtR life skill training
- Attend quarterly technical meetings with program managers.
- Supports logistics and facilitates training and maintaining capacity building to Training of Trainers of teachers and school administrators on life skills education and scale-up approaches activities.
- Complete monthly PIM report with high accuracy and submit to PO follow agreed timelines.
- Ensure having clear actions to be taken which were found in the previous PIM Report
- Monitors and gathers information/data for reports on the status and progress of project sites.
- Timely prepare and submit monthly activities plan and report against suggested recommendation to supervisor.
- Assists in preparing program reports: monthly progress report, quarterly report, annual completion report and submit to supervisor and partners on a timely basis.
- Documents best practices and lessons learned observed during field visits and meetings and submit to relevant sections for communicating to external parties (government, donors, regional & global staff).
- Assist with collecting data for baseline survey for new target schools
- Represents Room to Read by attending and speaking at relevant forums and advocating for the importance of life skills at the district level.
- Other tasks
- Write a success story/ case study from the field
- Support stakeholder visits to the project site
- Attend other training/meetings as required
- Performs other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
- Required
- Bachelor’s degree in related fields (Teacher training, pedagogy, education development…etc).
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in education, relevant experiences with girl education and gender equality or teacher training is a plus
- Mature and demonstrate great skills in providing life skills training
- Sound good knowledge in gender equality and gender sensitization
- Prior experience working with students, teachers, school administrators,
- Demonstrate mature and good skills in dealing with government officials at least DoE and Schools Director level as well as relevant stakeholders.
- Have good coaching, facilitation, presentation and communication skills with teachers and students.
- Have a strong passion for girls’ education and gender equality, development, and social work.
- Ability to travel frequently and work in rural areas.
- Computer literate: basic Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Accounting and Finance Associate (1 Position)
Position Overview:
Accounting and Finance Associate is responsible for carrying out all operational assistance to Provincial Office-Battambang (70%) and Banteay Meanchey (30%) of Programs and Finance, Accounting, Administration, and HR initiatives; including handling petty cash, coordinating on-site procurement, managing general office administration and hospitality, utility expenses, logistics supports for staff travels and program training/workshop; and handling office filing system. This position reports to the Field Manager (FM).
- Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Banking and Finance or Accounting
- At least 2 years of professional experience in accounting/finance, administration, and/or office management with NGOs or private sector
- Attention to detail, trustworthy, and working under pressure
- High commitment and working well with others
- Ability to written and verbal communication skills in English and Khmer
- Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, and other accounting software are a plus
