Site Architect

Position Summary

Site Architect will report to Construction Manager and Project Manager

Department: WTP

Report Line: Design Manager / Project Manager

Job Purpose:

We are looking for a right-brained Architect to perform all phases of architectural work including planning, designing and overseeing the construction. You will be involved in new building designs, extensions, alterations, restorations and conservations from the earliest stages right through to completion. The goal is to match client’s needs and to produce sustainable, functional and aesthetically pleasing designs.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Review Interior Design Specifications provided by Designers to ensure that all works are carried out to specific standards, building codes, guidelines and regulations
  • Review Interior Designs provided by Designers and comment on feasibility, function, operation, maintenance, materials, buildability etc.
  • Review ID Contractors shop drawings to ensure compliant with Design Drawings and specifications
  • Attend inspections of ID works and ensure compliant with design and specifications
  • Review submissions of materials and samples to ensure compliant with design and specifications
  • Report to Design Manager (Design Stage) and Senior Architect / Finishing Manager (Construction Stage)
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Proven working experience in Interior Design.
  • Strong portfolio to prove artistic skills
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Excellent drawing skills and familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, SketchUp, 3d Studio VIZ or similar)
  • Good ability with Microsoft Office
  • Good Communication
  • Good level of English across all disciplines
  • BS degree in Interior Design equivalent

Functional Report: Group Director of Project Management

It is important that all Wing Tower Project employees have a clear understanding of the expectations of their duties and responsibilities. This job description outlines the major responsibilities for this role and is a guide to the employee and their managers as to their overall responsibilities. The employee recognizes that they may be required to undertake work that is outside of the specifics of this job description from time to time, as required and requested to do so for the good operations of the Royal Group, and they agree to undertake all reasonable and lawful instructions provided to them. Following are the main duties and responsibilities for this position:

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Proceed inspection based on the drawing, specifications, and any other documents that may require for the project. And report to the Site Architect.
  • Review and inspect the contractor’s capability in terms of personnel, equipment, and other conditions with regard to the contract/bid conditions and legal requirements of Architectural drawing.
  • Where applicable provide suggestions or observations with respect to the element of the works.
  • Carry out inspections based upon site-specific requirements as directed by the line manager or QA/QC process.
  • Assist with the development of the inspection process for the Finishing works at the site.
  • Record accurate inspections carried out in line with the site documents.
  • Advise line manager and record where applicable any works not carried out in accordance with the drawings and specifications,
  • Check the work done by the contractor.
  • Assist with the H&S at the site and advise the line manager of any infringements.
  • Assist where required in the development of the commissioning procedures that are required for the project.
  • Review and comment with respect to As-Built Drawings, and operations manuals.
  • Provide support for the functional area of the project within which they are allocated, or for the project team as a whole, as required by the structure of the project team.
  • Monitor and advise line managers of all of the works within their specific area of concern.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned as part of the construction works.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Degree qualified in Architecture or equivalent work experience (supervisor level).
  • 3+ years experience in construction/site environment. Including main contractor works
  • Intermediate time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight timeframes on occasion.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collate materials into a template report.
  • Basic working knowledge of software Excel Autocad & word.
  • Team player and able to adapt to changes within the construction process
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is preferred.
