Job Summary and Responsibilities
MSP is seeking a Senior Finance Specialist to support Morodok Baitong for the life of the project.
- The main responsibilities of the Senior Finance Specialist will include the following:
- Develop strategies for catalyzing investments into low emission, conservation friendly businesses and landscapes
- Advise banks, financial institutions, and investors on financing mechanisms that support low-carbon sustainable landscapes projects
- Design and implement initiatives to expand the number of Cambodian banks and financial institutions adopting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) guidelines for debt and equity investments
- Identify potential investors for low-carbon projects in the agricultural and forestry sectors and work with financial institutions, banks, and fund managers to help them access a pipeline of investment-ready businesses and projects
- Create investor marketing materials and investment memos to facilitate investment into sustainable land-use companies
- Develop and maintain financial models for revenue and income forecasts, cash flow analysis, and balance sheet projections for investment opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant private sector partners in Cambodia and across Southeast Asia
- Participate in industry forums that bring together investors and companies with innovative portfolios of low-emissions projects
- Contribute to the preparation and submission of annual work plans and periodic progress reports and assist with monitoring relevant program indicators and evaluating program results
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field required, progress towards MBA and/or CFA desirable
- At least 3 years of experience working in banking, investment funds, and/or other financial institutions in facilitating/advising investments
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and execute sound judgment
- Strong technical and analytical capabilities, including financial modeling, accounting skills, and business analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of the agriculture and forestry sectors
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of partners, including government officials, private sector companies, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders
- Ability to travel regularly to community protected areas in Cambodia to provide technical expertise and oversee program implementation
- Excellent written and oral communication.
