We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Manager to support the management and coordination of complex data workflows in large-scale and intersectoral epidemiological research projects. The successful candidate will be integrated within the Methodology and Data Analysis Group, which plays a central role in the design, implementation, and quality assurance of data management and statistical analysis across all projects.
The position will have a strong focus on data quality monitoring, automation of data workflows, development of operational dashboards, and integration of data originating from multiple sources, including epidemiological, clinical, laboratory, environmental, entomological and spatial datasets.
Position Overview:
The Senior Data Manager will work under the direct supervision of the Head of the Data and Methodology Analysis Group, and in close collaboration with project investigators, field coordinators and technicians and data analysts. This position involves supervising data field assistants, junior data manager, working with digital data collection platforms (REDCap, KoboToolbox, ODK, etc.), and contributing to reports, statistical exports, and scientific outputs.
The Senior Data Manager will also be responsible for designing and maintaining real-time or near-real-time data monitoring systems and dashboards using tools such as Power BI or equivalent business intelligence platforms, allowing research teams to monitor recruitment, field activities, completeness, data quality, laboratory workflows, and key study indicators.
Recruitment conditions:

- Data Management and Monitoring
- Lead and supervise data management activities for multiple large-scale and One Health surveys and longitudinal epidemiological studies.
- Develop and manage data collection platforms using REDCap, KoboToolbox, ODK, or equivalent systems.
- Design electronic Case Report Forms (CRFs) and supervise the creation of data entry masks.
- Coordinate and monitor field data collection with support from field assistants and field coordinators.
- Implement quality control procedures and conduct regular data cleaning and validation checks.
- Maintain version control, documentation of datasets and metadata in accordance with good data management practices
- Define and monitor Data Quality Indicators (DQIs), including completeness, timeliness, duplication, logical inconsistencies, missing data, outliers, protocol deviations, and field-team performance indicators.
- Develop automated or semi-automated monitoring dashboards using Power BI, or equivalent visualization platforms, to provide real-time oversight of recruitment, sample collection, laboratory processing, follow-up, field activities, and data quality.
- Design dashboards adapted to different users, including investigators, project managers, field coordinators, laboratory teams, and senior management.
- Develop and maintain Data Management Plans (DMPs), data dictionaries, coding conventions, database specifications, data validation plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Team Supervision and Coordination
- Supervise and support interviewers and field data assistants in survey implementation, mobile data capture, and troubleshooting.
- Provide training and technical support to field staff on data collection tools and protocols.
- Liaise regularly with field coordinators and data analysts to ensure proper alignment of data and field procedures.
- Coordinate data management activities across several projects simultaneously and establish clear priorities, timelines, and quality-control procedures.
- Provide technical mentoring to junior data management staff and contribute to strengthening data management capacity within the Unit.
- Participate in project meetings and proactively identify data quality issues, operational bottlenecks, and corrective actions.
- Analysis and Reporting Support
- Prepare clean and well-documented datasets for statistical analysis in coordination with biostatisticians and researchers.
- Support preliminary statistical analyses using statistical software such as Stata, R, or equivalent.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, monitoring dashboards, and study deliverables.
- Develop clear and interactive data visualizations using Power BI, R, or other visualization tools to facilitate interpretation and decision-making.
- Produce routine monitoring reports and automated summaries for investigators and project managers.
- Participate in data-related sections of research protocols, manuscripts, and project documentation.
- Use GIS tools for mapping and spatial data analysis would be considered an advantage for supporting location-based epidemiological insights
- Data Security and Compliance:
- Ensure proper storage, pseudonymization, and secure transfer of sensitive data.
- Apply IPC’s data protection protocols and ensure compliance with Cambodian and international ethical and legal standards.
- Implement role-based access controls and ensure that data access is granted according to project responsibilities and ethical approvals.

- Master's Degree in In Data science, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Epidemiology, Public Health, GIS or a related field.
- Data management, preferably in epidemiological, clinical, public health, socioeconomic, development, open-data or research projects for 3 to 5 years as a minimum
- Proven experience in managing digital data collection systems (REDCap, KoboToolbox, ODK, or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of statistical software (R, Stata or equivalent).
- Experience working with multi-partner, international research consortia is an advantage.
- English and Khmer language skills required, French language skills is an asset.
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a strong asset, especially for spatial analysis of epidemiological data

Senior Biostatistician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Biostatistician to lead and support the statistical components of large-scale epidemiological research projects, including observational and interventional studies conducted by the Epidemiology and Public Health Unit. The Senior Biostatistician will be part of the Methodology and Data Analysis Group, which plays a central role in study design, statistical analysis, and ensuring methodological quality across IPC’s collaborative research portfolio.
The position is intended for a senior methodological scientist capable of independently leading complex statistical analyses, advising investigators on study design and analytical strategy, supervising junior analysts, and contributing actively to scientific publications and research proposals.
Position Overview:
The Senior Biostatistician will work under the supervision of the Head of the Epidemiology and Public Health Unit and in close collaboration with project investigators, research scientists, PhD Students and data managers. In addition to contributing to study design, statistical analysis plans, and analytical outputs, the Senior Biostatistician will be responsible for supervising junior data analysts, PhD students within the Methodology and Data Analysis Group.

- Statistical Analysis and Methodological Support
- Develop statistical analysis plans and perform data analysis using R, Stata, or other relevant software.
- Provide methodological leadership across epidemiological and clinical research projects, from study conception through final analysis and interpretation.
- Apply a broad range of statistical techniques including regression, survival analysis, mixed models, geospatial analysis and Bayesian approaches.
- Apply methods appropriate for clustered, hierarchical, repeated-measures, and correlated data structures.
- Analyze data from a wide range of study designs including population-based surveys, observational studies, longitudinal cohorts, case-control studies, clinical trials and routine surveillance systems.
- Design and analyze complex population surveys, including appropriate consideration of stratification, clustering, sampling weights, and survey design effects.
- Contribute to protocol development, sample size calculation, and study design refinement.
- Advise investigators on the selection of appropriate statistical methods and ensure alignment between research questions, study design, data structure, and analytical strategy.
- Develop strategies for handling missing data, including multiple imputation and appropriate sensitivity analyses.
- Assess model assumptions, goodness-of-fit, robustness, interactions, effect modification, and potential sources of bias.
- Plan and conduct sensitivity, subgroup, and robustness analyses where scientifically justified.
- Provide guidance on confounding control, causal diagrams, propensity score methods, inverse probability weighting, marginal models, or other causal inference approaches when appropriate.
- Advise on multiple testing, multiplicity, interim analyses, and statistical inference where relevant.
- Contribute to the design and validation of prediction, prognostic, diagnostic, and risk models where appropriate.
- Ensure methodological rigor and validity of findings throughout the research process.
- Team Supervision and Capacity Building
- Supervise and mentor Cambodian and international junior biostatisticians and data analysts within the Epidemiology and Public Health Unit.
- Coordinate and strengthen the skills of the data analysis team, fostering autonomy and high-quality outputs.
- Deliver theoretical and hands-on training sessions in biostatistics and epidemiological methods for staff from other IPC units and contribute actively to teaching activities in national and international courses, including at the University of Health Sciences of Cambodia.
- Support long-term capacity building through mentorship, supervision of junior staff, and promotion of good statistical practices.
- Review and validate statistical analyses performed by team members and collaborators, ensuring high-quality standards across all projects.
- Scientific Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate advanced statistical concepts and results clearly to multidisciplinary audiences, including scientists, clinicians, public health officials, and policy stakeholders.
- Contribute to the preparation of scientific publications, technical reports, grant proposals, and oral presentations at national and international conferences.
- Work in close collaboration with Principal Investigators, data managers, and project teams to support analytical needs across IPC’s research portfolio.
- Contribute to regular strategic and technical exchanges with key national and international partners including institutes within the Pasteur Network and the Mathematical Modelling of Infectious Diseases Unit at Institut Pasteur in Paris.

- Experience with diverse epidemiological study designs and analytical frameworks.
- Experience collaborating with international, multidisciplinary research teams.
- Fluency in English language required. Khmer or French language skills is an asset.
- Experience with spatial analysis or Geographic Information Systems is an asset.
