Senior Biologist

The lnstitut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) is recruiting a full time Senior Biologist to reinforce the Virology Unit. The role involves designing and executing laboratory experiments, analyzing data, publishing findings, writing grant proposals, managing budgets, and supervising staff. Experience in virology or other relevant field of research required, including a proven track record of securing grant funding and publishing findings. Degree in biology, immunology, virology, or related field required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Independently coordinate and implement research projects
- Assist in coordination of surveillance programs
- Plan and conduct experiments and analyses and interpret the results
- Write grant proposals, progress reports, and scientific papers
- Manage project budgets and expenditures
- Ensure timely completion of projects and achievement of research goals
- Discuss research progress and collaborate with other researchers and Units at IPC and external partners
- Train and mentor junior research staff and students
- Maintain good communication with technical teams and other scientists

- Language required: Advanced level of English proficiency

- The initial contract is offered for 1 year (renewable).
- Candidate Profile:
- Pharmacist, Medical Doctor, DES or Ph.D. completed or in progress
- Experience writing grant proposals and papers
- Excellent project, budget, and personnel management skills
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities
- Professional proficiency in English required
- Ability to work in a team and quickly adapt to new situations as needed
- Pro-active, solution oriented
- Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Endnote at minimum – some skills in statistical analyses, bioinformatics, and/or design are beneficial
