Senior Accountant

Position Summary

Direct Report: Finance Manager

THE ROLE

The responsibilities of a Senior Accountant can include reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances, preparing financial statements and assessing internal controls, including risk assessments. They perform monthly balance sheet income statement changes in financial position/budget variance analysis, assist with the design of budgets for review by management, maintain fixed assets and schedules as well as supervise accounting staff.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable/Account Receivable - maintaining the Accounts payable and Accounts receivable in order to monitor the level of the Payable and receivable in relation to purchase and sales including providing cash planning to EWCB team.
  • Fixed Asset Register - updating the company’s Fixed Asset Register to reflect the addition of new fixed assets and calculate depreciation expenses as appropriate including physical checking per internal control process.
  • Closing of Balance Sheet/ Profit & Loss Statement - ensuring that accounting entries are made in accordance with company’s accounting policies and performing the periodic closing of Balance Sheet/ Profit & Loss Statement including the statutory financial statement.
  • Financial Supporting/ Guide Other - support local business analysts to Finance Manager and guide other (junior) staff in their work.
  • Prepare Monthly Tax Review - Prepare monthly tax review and submit per government requirement, coordinate with the Tax agency (if any) for yearly Tax preparation and submission.
  • Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
  • Review employee expense reports (travel expense reports and operational expense reports) for accuracy and completeness and ensure that expense reports have been fully approved before payments.
  • Inventory Control - Assist on monthly physical cycle count.
  • Budget - Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
  • Other assignments by supervisor/manager.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Candidates must possess a Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accountancy
  • Have 4-5 years working experience in related fields. Experience with a full set of accounts is an advantage
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements
  • Independent, self-motivated, good communication skill
  • Good oral and written English skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Document especially in Microsoft Excel/ Google Sheet & computerized accounting system
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, QuickBooks is an advantages
