Secondary Teaching Assistant

Position Summary

Reigate Grammar School Phnom Penh is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our Senior School team. The successful candidate will support teaching and learning across a range of subjects, ensuring students receive the highest quality education. This role requires fluency in both Khmer and English to effectively support our diverse student body.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality lessons across various Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Sixth Form subjects.
  • Assist with lesson preparation, resource creation, and classroom organisation to enhance student engagement.
  • Provide individual and small group support, reinforcing learning and addressing gaps in understanding.
  • Assist students in developing their independent learning skills and confidence in their studies.
  • Help to facilitate differentiated learning, ensuring all students, including those with additional needs, can access the curriculum.
  • Support students' literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills.
  • Aid in the delivery of technology-enhanced learning through digital platforms and tools.
  • Supervise and support students during classroom activities, study sessions, and extracurricular programs.
  • Promote positive behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
  • Assist in organising school events, trips, and student-led initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in British university or equivalent qualification in education, teaching assistance, or a related field.
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Successful applicants must be native-level English speakers and possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • Experience supporting students in Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, or Sixth Form.
  • Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum and modern teaching practices.
  • Ability to work effectively with individual students, small groups, and within whole-class settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, teachers, and parents.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Confidence in using technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning.

  • Previous experience in an international school setting.

MEP Technician

Position Circumstances

Position Summary
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Operation and Routine Maintenance
  • Responsible for daily inspection, maintenance, and servicing of the campus electrical system, including:
  • 1000KVA and 630KVA transformers;
  • 1400KVA diesel backup generator;
  • Distribution panels, wiring, switches, outlets, and related components.
  • Regularly check and maintain the central air-conditioning system, including:
  • 550KW Gree inverter centrifugal water-cooled chiller system;
  • Terminal units and cooling tower performance.
  • Ensure proper functioning of the swimming pool water purification system, including pumps and filtration units.
  • Maintain well water purification systems for domestic use and drinking water, ensuring water quality meets safety standards.
  • Assist in the installation, wiring, and commissioning of new electrical or mechanical equipment on campus.
  • Responsible for maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment, including stoves, range hoods, water heaters, dishwashers, etc., ensuring safe and stable operation.
  • Plumbing and Sanitation System Maintenance
  • Inspect and repair campus plumbing systems, including water supply lines, taps, valves, and storage tanks.
  • Ensure the drainage systems in toilets, restrooms, and kitchens are functioning properly; regularly unclog pipes and address odor or blockage issues.
  • Handle sewage system issues and assist in coordinating with third-party waste removal services when needed.
  • Daily Inspection and Repair Handling
  • Conduct scheduled inspections and complete maintenance logs and operational records.
  • Respond promptly to electrical or plumbing repair requests and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with other departments (security, housekeeping, administration) to ensure smooth school operations.
  • Other Responsibilities
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and materials, and raise purchase requests as needed. Coordinating with outside repairer regarding major repairs of MEP systems;
  • Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising functionality or quality. Evaluate design alternatives, specifications, and construction methods to achieve cost savings while meeting project requirements.
  • Interact with project manager for clarification in architectural.
  • Support the campus in handling emergency incidents such as power outages, leaks, and low water pressure.
  • Carry out other ad hoc tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:

  • Chinese - Simplified is preferred
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma in or above; possession of a valid electrician license/certification is preferred
Work History:
  • Minimum of relevant experience in electrical and plumbing installation and maintenance for 3 years as a minimum
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Ability to read technical diagrams and independently carry out wiring and troubleshooting. Have strong installation and maintenance skills and ability to control the quality and cost;
  • Good knowledge of MEP systems and construction practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Familiarity with high/low voltage systems, HVAC water systems, and kitchen equipment maintenance is a strong advantage.
Soft Skills
  • Have good oral and written English; Knowing Chinese Mandarin is an advantage;
  • Have good interpersonal skills, and problem-solving skills;

Position Summary

Student Services & Head Assistant plays a dual role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning in the classroom, while also serving as the welcoming first point of contact for parents, visitors, and pupils at the school reception. This position requires warmth, professionalism, flexibility, and a strong commitment to the school’s values of Discovery, Opportunity, Virtue, and Excellence (DOVE).

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Classroom Support
  • Assist the class teacher in preparing, resourcing, and delivering lessons.
  • Support individuals and small groups of pupils with their learning, ensuring inclusion for all abilities.
  • Help to manage classroom behaviour positively, following the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Supervise children during transitions, breaks, lunch, and other duties as required.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and care for children during school hours, breaks, and designated activities.
  • Assist children with daily routines, including eating, dressing, toileting, and hygiene.
  • Monitor children’s behavior and ensure safety at all times.
  • Support children in developing social, emotional, and communication skills.
  • Engage children in age-appropriate play, learning, and recreational activities.
  • Report any accidents, illnesses, or unusual behavior to teachers or the HR Department immediately.
