Helen Keller Intl Cambodia is committed to promoting maternal and child health through initiatives that support and encourage breastfeeding. In line with this commitment, Helen Keller will organize a "Run for Breastfeeding" event in March 2025. This 3k and 5k fun run aims to raise awareness about the numerous benefits of breastfeeding, including its positive impact on both child and maternal health. The event will foster an inclusive environment for public discourse surrounding breastfeeding and breastfeeding-friendly policies and practices by bringing together families, healthcare professionals, local communities, and stakeholders.

The event is designed to celebrate breastfeeding and engage and inspire a wide audience. Participants will learn about the importance of breastfeeding while enjoying an active and fun experience. With the goal of creating a lasting impact, the event will also provide a platform for discussion and action on breastfeeding support. It will highlight the importance of supporting breastfeeding mothers in public and private spaces.

The successful execution of this event will contribute to ongoing efforts to advocate for improved maternal and child health practices in Cambodia and beyond, encouraging wider participation in breastfeeding support programs. Through collaboration with the community and stakeholders, Helen Keller aims to create a memorable event that promotes public health, community engagement, and maternal and child well-being.

DURATION AND TIMEFRAME:

The "Run for Breastfeeding" event will occur on a single day, scheduled for the end of March 2025. The event itself will be held over a few hours. Still, the overall duration of the engagement for the selected organizer will be from mid-January till the event date to allow for adequate planning, procurement, and coordination.

OBJECTIVES:

The primary objective of the "Run for Breastfeeding" event is to raise awareness about the critical importance of breastfeeding for both maternal and child health. This event aims to bring together diverse stakeholders, including families, healthcare professionals, and local communities to:

  1. Promote the Benefits of Breastfeeding: Highlight the long-term health advantages of breastfeeding for both children and mothers, focusing on preventing malnutrition, improved child development, and maternal well-being.
  2. Support Breastfeeding Mothers: Foster an environment of support and empowerment for breastfeeding mothers, emphasizing the need for societal and policy-level initiatives that facilitate breastfeeding-friendly environments.
  3. Encourage Public Dialogue: Provide a platform for public discourse around breastfeeding, emphasizing the importance of breastfeeding-friendly policies in workplaces, communities, and healthcare settings.
  4. Engage Communities: Involve local communities in the event, encouraging active participation through the fun run and engagement with educational activities, such as performances, booths, and interactive discussions.

Through these objectives, the event aims to create a lasting impact by raising awareness and inspiring action to support breastfeeding practices and policies that promote the health of both mothers and children.

Submission Requirements

SPECIFIC REQUESTS:

Please describe the nature of your experience and why it is well suited to the nature of the work described above. Please address the qualifications, experience, and comparable project work in the quotation. In addition, please provide:

  • Quotation shall be marked with PR# {PF-2024-12-214}
  • A slide presentation on a firm's provided service on fun run activities.
  • Suggest three suitable venues in Phnom Penh for hosting a fun run event.
  • Quotation should include financial cost, tax, and other duties tax.
  • Copy of valid firm trade license, tax certificate (VAT Registration) and Valid Patent
  • Signed statement/disclosure of vendor conflict of interest (COI) certification.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Eligible consultant may submit their quotation in one of two ways:

  • Electronically: Sign, stamp, scan, and send the quotation as an attachment in PDF format to the email address.
  • Hard copy: Submit the quotation with a cover letter signed and stamped to Helen Keller’s office provided in the contact details.

Submissions will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. The quotation closes on January 31, 2025, by 5:00 p.m.

The award will be given to the firm representing the lowest price meeting our specifications.
