What is a Blue School?
A Blue School offers a healthy learning environment and exposes students to environmentally friendly technologies and practices that can be replicated in their communities. Although access to WASH services (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) is the starting point, a Blue School goes beyond that: It also focuses on menstrual hygiene management, school garden activities, solid waste management and environmentally friendly activities.
The Blue Schools Kit
In 2016, the Swiss Water and Sanitation Consortium of 7 Swiss NGOs developed the Blue School concept including support materials in the form of the ‘Blue Schools Kit’ with four parts: 1- Concept Brief, 2- Catalogue of Technologies, 3- Catalogues of Practical Exercises, 4- Facilitator Guidelines.
Caritas Switzerland, subsequently developed the Cambodian Blue Schools Kit in English (link) and Khmer ( Link )
The Assignment
The purpose of the assignment
This assignment will b)e contracted through service delivery contract in two lots:
- E-learning Platform (website and app) development;
- E-learning modules/content development.
The platform layouters and programmers of Lot 1, and the content developers of Lot 2 will work collaboratively with Caritas Switzerland to ensure that existing Blue Schools materials are properly converted into e-learning content and build into menus and modules within the platform interface of the website and mobile app.
