Receptionist
Salary: The salary is very competitive and will be discussed at the time of the interview
Location: APOPO Office, Siem Reap City, Cambodia
Department: Visitors Center.
Reporting to the Visitors Center Manager, the position's responsibility is to manage the reception online booking system, cash register, and Point of Sales Database to sell APOPO visitor tickets and merchandise. The Receptionist will also make visitor bookings by telephone and email. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- Assist the Visitor Centre Manager with the operation of the reception/front desk
- Manage all guest bookings for the tours through the online booking system, email, and telephone
- Outline the tour and timeline before beginning emails and phone calls for the tour bookings
- Operate Survey 1,2,3 and Point of Sales database
- Manage sales register and Cash Book/Bank records
- Prepare Cash/Bank Reconciliations
- When required write hand-written receipts for the visitors in English/Khmer
- Conduct weekly and monthly merchandise stock checks
- Determine if any guests have physical restrictions that should be considered
- Clearly and articulately provide information to guests in an engaging manner
- Answer any questions that the guests may have
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the APOPO activities
- Remain calm, friendly, and enthusiastic at all times
- Deescalate any tension with difficult guests
- Be honest and reliable
- Know all safety and security protocols, should they be needed
- Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Excellent hospitality skills
- Significant work experience as a receptionist
- Competent in using MS Office and databases
- Must have good Khmer/English, computer, social media, and writing email abilities
- Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiastic, presentable, engaging, and informative way of speaking
- Ability to remain calm and collected when working in a busy environment and with difficult guests
- Passion for learning and willingness to continue to acquire relevant knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree is a plus
- Other skills
- Computer Skills: Word & Excel, writing emails, and database management.
