Qualitative Data Collectors
location: Phnom Penn and Provinces
Duration of Services:
From May 1, 2025, to April 30, 2027. The service will be paid based on the actual needs of Helen Keller’s programs.
- Qualitative Data Collector:
- Conducting focus group discussions (FGDs).
- Conducting in-depth interviews and key informant interviews as required.
- Transcribing and organizing audio recordings into written transcripts (in Khmer and English).
- Recording and documenting data accurately, including taking detailed notes and using audio/video equipment.
- Actively listening to participants and using probing interview techniques to gather detailed insights.
- Observing the respondent during the data collection process.
- Following research protocols and guidelines to ensure consistency and validity in data collection.
- Establishing rapport and creating a comfortable environment for respondents.
- Explaining the purpose and importance of the data collection process.
- Ensuring confidentiality and privacy are maintained throughout the interaction.
- Addressing any questions or concerns raised by respondents.
- General responsibilities for the service provider:
- Participating in training and practice sessions/pilot tests.
- Maintaining the quality of collected and entered data in accordance with the provided protocol.
- Ensuring all survey equipment and materials are kept in optimal condition.
- Ensuring all collected and entered data is kept confidential.
- Attending meetings with the M&E manager and other M&E team members to discuss any field issues and revise the project work plan when necessary.
- Liaising with local authorities and stakeholders as requested by the supervisor and/or M&E team.
- Assisting the M&E team with other duties as needed.
- Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong command of both Khmer and English languages.
- Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative research, preferably with at least 2 years of experience in Cambodia. Experience in nutrition-related research is highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly in engaging and communicating with study participants.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel to rural areas using a motorbike as necessary.
Quantitative Data Collectors

- Collecting data using questionnaires or smartphone/tablets.
- Following prescribed procedures and guidelines for data collection.
- Asking questions clearly and accurately, adhering to a script or questionnaire.
- Actively listening to respondents, demonstrating empathy and respect.
- Probing additional information or clarification when necessary.
- Recording responses accurately and comprehensively, avoiding bias and influencing respondents.
- Establishing rapport and creating a comfortable environment for respondents.
- Explaining the purpose and importance of the data collection process.

Data Entry Operators

Duration of Services:
From May 1, 2025, to April 30, 2027. The service will be paid based on the actual needs of Helen Keller’s programs.
- Data Entry Operators:
- Using appropriate software or tools (i.e., spreadsheets, databases, specialized data entry software etc.) to enter data.
- Entering data quickly and accurately, utilizing touch typing techniques to improve speed and efficiency.
- Formatting data as required, including applying consistent styles, alignments, and data validation rules.
- Transcribing data from various sources, (i.e., paper documents, forms, electronic files etc.) into a computer system or database.
- Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail while entering data.
- Following established data entry protocols or guidelines provided by the organization.
