Position Summary

Job Available At KKEV Cambodia

We are looking for full-time Psychologist to work with our children and staff in our orphanage centre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

We are on the search for a delightful and self-motivated Psychologist to effectively provide the counselling to our children in our orphanage centre. Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Areas of Responsibilities:
  • Provide effective counseling to the children, addressing any of their occurring problems
  • Provide advice and coach the caretakers and teachers in dealing with traumatized children
  • Counselling support to the management team, teachers and caretakers, supporting them in their dealing with vulnerable children, with the aim that the children are well behaved and study hard
  • Help children to develop coping skills by fostering their resilience and self-esteem. Encourage open communication, empower them to express boundaries and seek help when needed
  • Install learning groups to reduce the stress and aggressive behavior
  • Provide the training to the children about stress management and affective communication
  • Assist Admin Manager in managing caretaker team
  • Work closely with management team to ensure that children’s documents are properly filed
  • Keep alerting to Administration Manager and liaison with center manager, education manager and country director to ensure that sick children are closely taken cared by care takers and sent to the hospital(s) in a timely manner
  • Actively contributing to the KKEV vision and mission
  • Help to ensure that the center is always clean
  • Other Responsibilities:
  • In close collaboration with the management team and all KKEV staff, prioritize children’s safety at all times, protecting them from physical, emotional and sexual abuse; report any mistreatment or abuse of children
  • Acting at all times in a professional and ethical manner, with appropriate role modeling for all children
  • Following other duties as reasonably required by management team
  • Respect child rights, privacy and confidentiality at all times, by involving children in case planning, ensuring that their privacy is protected, and not disclosing sensitive or private information to other children, or other agencies, without permission by the child, with consideration of the child’s development, and other safety issues.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Bachelor Degree in psychology
  • Experience in working with vulnerable and traumatized children
  • Knowledge of child development and protection
  • Be willing to learn and self-improvement
  • Honesty and patience with children
  • Be able to work independently and under pressure
  • Good speaking and writing English
  • 3-5 years of experience in working as the psychologist with NGO(s) working for vulnerable children in Cambodia
