Role purpose
The Project Officer is responsible for managing and coordinating the daily activities under the supervision of the Line Manager in order to ensure quality delivery of the Elimination of Violence through Children’s Empowerment in Cambodia project results in the target communities and schools in Kang Meas district, Kampong Cham province in accordance with the project design, budget, work plan, MEAL plan, and financial management in line with Save the Children’s policies and donor’s requirements. The project encompasses supporting and mentoring schools which we worked through Eliminating Violence against Children in Schools (EVACiS) project and implementing the Seeds approach (community-led child protection).
S/he represents Save the Children in relevant child protection and child rights governance networks and platforms, and coordinates with other initiatives and agencies to create synergy and harmonisation to maximise project results in the area
The post holder works closely with Community Coach/Advisor, CP and CRG Advisor and Provincial Structures in collaboration with Provincial Office of Education (PoE), District Office of Education (DoE), School Management Committees (SMCs), School Principals, Child Protection Focal Points (CPFP), teachers, Student Councils (SCs), Provincial, District, and Commune authorities including Commune Committee for Women and Children (CCWC), Women and Children Consultative Committees (WCCC), community members and relevant key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of the project.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

- Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Law, Social Work, Education, Development Studies, Human Rights, Legal Studies or any other relevant field. Extensive and substantive relevant practical experience may be considered in place of a degree.
- Relevant social work experience in child protection related sectors, preferably linking to eliminating violence against children in different settings covering schools and communities for 3 to 5 years
- Knowledge and experiences in gender equality disability inclusion .
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with good ability written and spoken English and Khmer.
- Strong facilitation and community mobilization skills will be considered a definite advantage.
- Sound understanding of the government structure and mechanisms related to Child Protection, Education, child protection networking and key stakeholders.
- Sound understanding of and experience working with government ministries and coordinating bodies at national and sub-national levels.
- Good understanding of child rights and child participation concepts and approaches.
- Willingness to abide by Save the Children Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.
- Ability and willingness to travel to all parts of the country.
- Strong teamwork, coordination, networking, and advocacy.
