Project Coordinator for WASH and SMTA
The position is base in Poipet Beanteay Meanchey
The Project Coordinator will coordinate the implementation of Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Safe Migration and Trafficking Awareness (SMTA), and Community Engagement of the Building on Strength (BOS) project based in Poipet, Banteay Meanchey Province. Supervising field officers to implement project activities in 31 target villages in O’Chrov and Svay Check districts successfully.
BOS is designed as a WASH sector program which will include protection sector activities. BOS prioritizes previously identified target communities from Oasis of Hope – Phase I and constructs water access points or rehabilitates existing water access points. Project staff will work with previously established Water Management Committees (WMCs) and community groups to assess, develop, and deliver training and refresher needs. Project staff will have a strong Safe Migration and Trafficking Awareness (SMTA) focus and spread messaging through events and community groups in target villages. The project relies on proven Training of Trainer (TOT) methods and Water Management Committees (WMCs). The project staff will work alongside local pastors to conduct ministry outreach to people in dire need and support a growing local church network.

Duration: 1 year (Renewable, subject to funding availability)
- Assist the Program Manager to coordinate effective planning and implementation of the WASH and SMTA components of the BOS project (such as, drilling, water system structure, cost analysis) by working closely with the WASH Sector Manager for technical consultation based on project objectives and budget
- Assist the Program Manager in engaging with local authorities, and the government at the district and provincial levels by attending the relevant network meetings and developing plans and government reports, etc.
- Equip the field officers to train and support local leaders and community members, promoting strong community participation and ownership of the water system management and maintenance
- Assist the program manager through engaging internal protection sector and government stakeholders to review and update SMTA/Hygiene training materials and lessons as required
- Lead field officers with initiative to implement the safe migration & trafficking awareness, hygiene events and local church events
- Work with local church leaders to develop a ministry plan to support community members in need with Christ love
- Coordinate capacity building within local church leaders through enabling them to provide quality support to community members.
- Assist the Program Manager in consolidating reports and impact stories and photos for community engagement and WASH.
- Manage and organize collection of accurate activity data and compiling for monitoring and evaluation
- Assist the Program Manager in conducting team reflections with the field staff to improve team performance and program effectiveness
- Assist the Program Manager through maintaining strong budget organization to ensure cost effectiveness and tracking expenditures
- Assist the Program Manager in coordinating project visits for donors, government officials, etc.
- Represent Samaritan’s Purse in sector meetings, working groups, and networking and collaboration opportunities with other stakeholders whenever required
- Any other responsibilities assigned by the Program Manager.

- Demonstrate creativity and flexibility in a professional environment
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental or community development or similar; specialization in water, sanitation, and hygiene preferred.
- Background experience at least 3 years working in community development and water supply
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Experience in planning, organization, and monitoring, controlling, facilitation, training and coaching
- Ability to communicate and interact well with people of different ethnic, linguistic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Ability to work well under pressure with a commitment to set and achieve goals on time
- Required to have a valid Vehicle Category B Driver License and know how to ride a motorbike.
