The Women's Media Centre of Cambodia (WMC) established as a non-profit, non-governmental organization in January 1995 and officially registered with the Council of Ministers in the same year. Since its foundation, WMC has produced innovative high-quality radio, television and video productions in order to educate and inform Cambodians on a wide range of issues impacting on women’s rights and human rights, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, trafficking, elections, domestic violence, leadership, sexual assaults, drug abuse, rule of law, decentralization, poverty, Civil Society Dialogue and Public Awareness Raising, rape, land dispute/conflicts, etc.

WMC is independent and non-partisan. As a Cambodia Women’s Media Organization, it dedicated to improving the status of women in Cambodia and “Making Gender Equality Possible in Cambodia” (vision). Its mission is:

  • To use the media services to educate, lobby and increase awareness of women’s rights in Cambodian society;
  • To use the media services to empower women by providing evident-based information on socio-economic issues impacting their lives, and by giving them a voice on these issues;
  • To advocate for the positive portrayal of women in the public media, and to encourage and support women in media profession.

Project Coordinator

Position Summary

PURPOSE:

A Project Coordinator supports project management by overseeing administrative tasks, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring resource availability for successful project execution.

Contract type: 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.

Report to: Executive Director

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Management: Collaborate with project team to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes, and budgets for projects. 
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between team members, stakeholders, and donors to ensure everyone is informed about project progress and changes. 
  • Documentation: Maintain project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and reports, to ensure all project details are organized and accessible. 
  • Meeting Coordination: Organize and participate in meetings with donors, and stakeholders to discuss project updates, risks, and issues. 
  • Resource Management: Ensure that all necessary resources are available for the project team, including equipment and materials. 
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and assist in developing strategies to mitogate them.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, social studies or similar field. 
  • Previous experience in project coordination or a related role is beneficial, for at least 3 years. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Khmer.
  • Strong project planning, time management, and reporting skills.
  • Budget planning and management skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and with other partners.
  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly within Cambodia and internationally.
