The Building and Wood Workers Trade Union Federation of Cambodia (BWTUC) is an independent federation and neutral entity established in 2009 in Cambodia with 11,364 members from four sectors, including construction, brick kiln, artisan and wood. BWTUC’s vision is to see the respect of human rights, freedoms of association, equal right between men and women, and core labour standards for all Cambodian workers through association in the labour sector in promoting democracy and workers’ interests with employers as well the Royal government.

The Building and Wood Workers Trade Union Federation of Cambodia (BWTUC) is seeking a Project Coordinator who is dynamic and committed individual to work with BWTUC in coordinating projects implementation, book-keeping and reporting related to the projects funding and due diligence.

Project Coordinator

Position Summary

Duration: 2 years contract with expected extension

Reports to:

The Building and Wood Workers Trade Union Federation of Cambodia (BWTUC)’s manager and cross-function donors.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Project Management
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual work plans according to each activity and budget
  • Prepare monthly financial report
  • Support staff and outreach workers to understand the workplan
  • Monitoring the activities
  • Work with partner organization to facilitate the donor planning and reporting
  • Liaison, external relation, and representation
  • Assist manager to establish and maintain positive organizational relationships, government and community-based partners.
  • Assist manager to liaise with government, donors, partners vendors, consultants, international visitors, and volunteers
  • General Office Management
  • Maintain financial administration and management systems.
  • Assisting project activities, in particular logistics and communications.
  • Liaise vendors, suppliers, government department and partners needed to support project activities.
  • Additional duties
  • Working with small team, the position will also be required to assist, from time-to-time with a range of organizational and operational activities as reasonably requested by the manager.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in management, law, international relations, social sciences or related field.
  • At least two working in busy, complex community development projects, preferably in a similar within a community-based organization, not-for-profit organization, or trade union organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand coordinate a busy project.
  • Experience in, or willingness to learn, bookkeeping and accounting.
  • Proficient in both Khmer English written and verbal communication.
