Project Assistant
Classification: General Service Staff, Grade G5

Context:
Under the direct supervision of the National Project Officer in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, the Project Assistant will provide capacity building, technical and logistic support to Government and NGOs at national and sub-national levels. The incumbent is expected to carry out his/her duties in accordance with strictest moral and ethical standards and with due respect for gender and socio-cultural differences of migrants and victims of trafficking, and in accordance with recognized professional standards. The following are the duties of the candidate for this position.
- Organize meetings with government, other partners and service providers.
- Provide logistics and technical support to Government and NGO trainers to deliver workshop/training including training of trainer.
- Assist the supervisor train local government officials and civil society actors on reintegration and return, migrants in crisis situations, preparedness, and responses through role-playing and simulation exercises; identify and refer vulnerable migrants, particularly unaccompanied minors, separated children and families, refugees, and asylum seekers.
- Assist in the data collection of information about individual migrants to determine the levels of information and services required.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the project's M&E framework, including regular field visits to collect data on progress and emerging outcomes, and working closely with the team to ensure timely execution of project inputs and outputs.
- Assist in strengthening and reviewing data capture processes, including the design and development of data collection tools to standardize data collection, processing, and management.
- Participate in support supervision visits to project sites to facilitate the implementation of data management processes and support the overall success of the IOM Phnom Penh portfolio on Migrant Protection and Assistance Program in Cambodia.
- Maintain the general administrational procedures, preparing and submitting pay-lists/requests for payment, preparing and submitting travel authorization requests related to the project activities.
- Assist with correct and timely updating of the project databases (project recording and reporting templates)
- Prepare statistics, weekly updates, monthly reports and analysis as requested
- Follow IOM confidentiality/privacy guidelines in all case records and personal information of beneficiaries
- Perform duty travel as required
- Undertake other duties as assigned
- Required Qualifications and Experience
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with two years of relevant professional experience, preferably in administrative support or similar roles; or
- High school diploma with five years of relevant experience.
- Experience
- At least two years of experience working on development projects.

- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good level of computer literacy and fluent English.
- Awareness of victims of trafficking/ migration/ protection issues.
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a team with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
- Willingness to travel and to work under difficult conditions.
