The International Business Chamber of Cambodia (IBC) is a business membership not-for-profit organization. The IBC currently seeks to employ a Policy and Advocacy Officer in order to increase the capacity of its Executive Office to support membership service and Government Private Sector Forum Working Group D on Law, Tax and Governance.

Policy & Advocacy Officer (1 Position)

Position Summary

The position will be subject to key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and assess progress.

Employment Details

  • Location: Phnom Penh
  • Reports to: Executive Director
  • Hours: Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm
  • Remuneration Package Includes: Salary, Phone Allowance, Health Insurance, Leave Entitlement
  • Salary: Approximately USD $500-$550 (depending on qualification and experience)

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Keep up with and disseminate policy changes and amendments (both through official channels and through social media), update members accordingly.
  • Carry out policy dialogue with all relevant government stakeholders.
  • Communicating with international partners on legal and policy matters.
  • Tracking legislation in government.
  • Write letter to the government officials, ministries and embassies.
  • Other administrative & communication tasks include organize meeting and events.

Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Pre-Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in political science, law, economics and relevant degree.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Khmer and English (IELTS score of 6.0 and above is an advantage)
  • Ability to translate documents from Khmer and English, and English to Khmer.
  • Excellent minute taking, and report writing skills.
  • Knowledge and interest in legal and tax policy is an advantage.
  • Attend meetings, keep detailed minute, disseminate, and prepare information to be shared with members.
  • Professional demeanor and able to work with different levels of government and business.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Positive can-do attitude, ability to work within a team and able to adapt.
