Nurse Manager
- Act as an effective role model by demonstrating a high level of clinical competence.
- Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice within the specialty.
- Participate in business, nursing, and education planning process at a strategic and service level.
- Effectively delegate activities taking into consideration individual knowledge and skills levels.
- Role model clinical practice excellence includes activities of continuous quality improvement, audit, and data collection.
- Work collaboratively with all members of the clinical staff to ensure staff receives high quality educational input and support.
- Partake in medicine strategic and operational business planning.
- Contribute to the development of standards of practice, protocols and policies for the services and operation.
- Maintain the nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
- Assure quality of care by developing and interpreting medical center and nursing divisions.
- Oversee operation on a day-to-day basis.
- Maintain high standards and quality service of all time.
- Maintain nursing staff by taking part in recruiting, selecting, and training.
- Maintain nursing staff by coaching, counseling, and disciplining through monitoring and appraising nurses job performance.
- Collaborates with medical doctors and multidisciplinary professional staff.
- Adhere to and implement SGMC policy and procedure.
- Communicate with staff and department heads.
- Ensure the facility they work in is compliant with the current law.
- Improve the quality and efficiency of the level of care delivered to patients.
- Solve any problems patients might have at the facility.
- Personal appearance, hygiene, and attitudes provide patient and staff positive assurance.
- Potential hazards in the workplace are recognized and dealt with within their own capability or reported promptly as appropriate.
- Attend all mandatory training and ensure that updates are booked.
- Induct new staff with a formal induction program.
- Be prepared to be trained and use any information technology that is brought into your area.
- Ensure correct usage of equipment and training of others as required.
- Perform other tasks within the scope of the position as required.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Registered nurse
- Knowledge of current issues within nursing and their specialty area.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in area of practice
- Minimum of three years increasingly responsible nursing management
- Ability to self-evaluate and reflect on practice.
- The ability to work flexibility to meet the requirements of the job role.
