The KHEOBS laboratory was created in 2022 as a partnership between ITC and IRD to develop the use of satellite images and remote sensing in various fields. The laboratory uses and produces satellite image processing tools, including massive data processing based on automated calculations. In addition, KHEOBS produces and hosts various web dashboards to visualize this satellite data in a multitude of applications, including tracking the spread of disease (Link) and tracking changes over time (Link). The laboratory is looking for someone to help maintain existing network and platform infrastructure, and also design and implement future infrastructure to support our growing technology needs.
Location: IRD at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC)
Available to start in April 2025
12 months with a trial period of 1 month, with the possibility of extension
- Manage and enhance network topology and IT infrastructure inventory.
- Perform IT system analysis and design; identify, interpret, and evaluate IT system requirements.
- Advocate best practices in DevSecOps approaches.
- Familiarize with and employ infrastructure as code paradigm to improve automation, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Familiarize with, employ, and advocate best practices in CI/CD, microservice architecture, automated testing.
- Research and adopt latest platform technologies, in close coordination with the supervisor, to enhance productivity and security of developers.
- Strong foundation of knowledge in networking, including VLANS, subnets, firewalls, routers, switches, etc.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree of IT, Computer Science or Cybersecurity field.
- CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent certification is an asset.
- Strong familiarity with the Linux operating system.
- Basic experience with programming and scripting languages (YAML, Bash, Python, R, etc).
- Effective communication skills in both verbal and written English.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance after reaching proficient competency.
- Willingness to adopt and advocate for new tools and technologies (including, but not limited to: Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible).
