Habitat for Humanity Cambodia (Habitat Cambodia) is part of Habitat for Humanity International and began operations in 2003. We work with diverse international and local non-governmental organizations, microfinance institutions, corporate partners, and local and national authorities to build a better life through safe and affordable homes.

Habitat Cambodia provides technical expertise, including safe and affordable house designs, water and sanitation programs, an innovative approach to housing combining market development, housing finance, and housing support services; advocacy for secure land tenure; and pro-poor housing solutions. Since 2003, Habitat Cambodia has served more than 175,000 families to improve their living conditions through housing interventions, WASH facilities, community development programs, and partnerships with microfinance institutions in the provinces of Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Kandal, Svay Rieng, Preah Vihear, Kampot, Tboung Khmum, Kampong Cham and Battambang.

National Director

Position Summary

Habitat for Humanity is looking for professional individual that could lead the Habitat for Humanity (HFH) Cambodia as National Director (ND) and fulfill its critical, complex role as housing expert, convener, and lead implementer of innovative housing solutions. The ND must be a compelling, transformative leader with 10+ years of NGO or development sector leadership experience encompassing the following:

  • Orchestrating wide-spread public and donor engagement and support of the organization’s mission and strategy through a clearly articulated value proposition.
  • Building a highly competent, technical leadership team and empowering, agile organizational culture capable of developing and implementing organizational strategy
  • Leading a wide range of diverse internal and external stakeholders through complex organizational change
  • Building and leading multi-sector coalitions and strategic partnerships to successfully scale solutions, advocacy impact and expand funding support
  • Securing institutional funding to support evidence-based, innovative, scalable solutions
  • Navigating the complexity of matrixed NGO structures, demonstrating collaboration with and accountability to local communities as well as local and international governance structures
  • Overseeing operational excellence of a direct service organization, including safeguarding, financial management, monitoring and evaluation, and other quality controls

This position will be based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Candidates must be currently eligible to work in the country. The successful candidate will be offered a local country-based contract of initially 2 years and subject to renewal depending on the availability of the funds.
