Organizational Collaboration

Chab Dai’s work comprises four main areas of work, or what we are calling “thematic areas.” These are: Movement Building, Systems Strengthening, Community Empowerment, and Survivor Restoration. Chab Dai encourages communication between and integration across all areas. The ideal candidate for this position will be prepared to work closely with members of all thematic areas and operating support functions, such as Operations, People & Culture, Finance, and Monitoring & Evaluation.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • These fall into two main areas –
  • Leading the Chab Dai Coalition team in Cambodia
  • Representing the Chab Dai Coalition to the Cambodian Government and other external stakeholders.
  • Internal Organisational Responsibilities
  • Lead Chab Dai Coalition’s Vision and Mission in Cambodia
  • Build a strong sense of team purpose and unity around Chab Dai’s vision and mission.
  • Effectively prioritize work and projects based on the organization’s mission.
  • Inspire and motivate staff around the vision and mission.
  • Lead the Cambodia organization and model the culture in line with Chab Dai’s core values
  • Build a positive, healthy work environment and organizational culture around Chab Dai’s core values.
  • Serve as an effective role model of Chab Dai’s core values through positive and humble leadership.
  • Communicate frequently and respectfully with all levels of staff.
  • Lead the Strategic Plan for Chab Dai Coalition and its effective implementation.
  • Co-develop the Global ‘One’ Chab Dai Strategic Plan with the Global Vision Team and co-oversee its effective implementation.
  • Produce the quarterly organization outcome report for the Board meetings, Executive Director and donors.
  • Provide proactive direct management, support and supervision of the Head of Finance, Head of Programs, Head of Program Strategy and Head of People and Culture.
  • Work with the Cambodian Head of Finance to develop and oversee the budget and finance policy, external audit, operations, OD budget and review financial reporting.
  • Work with the Head of Programs to ensure effective program implementation based on current best practices, oversee the reporting and monitoring of all Cambodia based projects.
  • Work with the Head of Program Strategy, oversee the development of proposals, monitoring and evaluation and learning processes of all Cambodia based projects.
  • Work with the Head of People and Culture, develop and oversee the fair and appropriate implementation of staff policies and the development and support of the Chab Dai team, and ensure that staff positions are filled by staff that are best suited to succeed in those roles.
  • Provide crisis management and risk mitigation related to Chab Dai’s reputation and staff and stakeholder security. Advise/participate in abuse cases where allegations involve Chab Dai staff in Cambodia and member organisations and respond appropriately.
  • External Partners and Stakeholders:
  • Supervise the Senior Manager for Government Liaison to build and maintain a positive relationship and accountability with the Royal Government of Cambodia and ensure compliance with Government requests, laws and protocols and provide technical support to relevant government committees (e.g. NCCT, and CNCC) and ministries (e.g. MOSVY, MOI).
  • Manage the renewal of Chab Dai Coalition’s Government MOUs and legal registration.
  • Build and maintain positive partnerships and timely communication with existing donors and source new donors.
  • Meet with other external partners and visitors and represent Chab Dai Coalition effectively.
  • Promote Chab Dai’s vision, mission, and strategy through networking with key partners and practitioners, and represent Chab Dai in external conferences, meetings and presentations.

  • Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in leadership, business administration or relevant field, or equivalent in related work/lived experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a director or leader of an NGO, social enterprise or other business in Cambodia.
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking and conflict management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
