Health Poverty Action (HPA) is an international NGO (UK Registered Charity Number 290535) which has been working in Cambodia since 1990. HPA was previously known as Health Unlimited until the name changes in 2011. Mental Health Specialist

Position Summary

Location: Phnom Penh, Chbar Ampov.

Annual leave, national holiday day-off.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Able to assesses, diagnoses and treats mental health/emotional and behavioral disorders.
  • Consultation, diagnose and preventing the mental disorder, providing the treatment both pharmacotherapy and non-pharmacotherapy.
  • Perform a variety of medical and /or psychological tests. These tests, combined with conversations about symptoms and medical and family history.
  • Screening and assessing mental, emotional and physical of the patients.
  • Form individualized treatment plans, which can include psychotherapy (talk therapy), medication and other medical treatments.
  • Ongoing patient care and evaluation the mental health’s condition, planning the treatment in the next follow up sessions.
  • Liaison mental health consultation, treatment and follow up PLHIV with/without mental disorder in linkage service of mental health department and HIV continuum of care.
  • Liaison mental health consultation, treatment and follow up evaluation at triage service in the hospital.
  • Management, data record of patient’s documents and control medication, providing report to the manager.
  • Communicate with partner NGOs and provide mental health and HIV education.
  • Prepare mental health and HIV SOP.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Doctor of mental health specialty/ General practitioner who experiences in mental health field, treatment of mental disorder and counseling.
  • Compassion and empathy with people who are having mental illness and PHLIV with/without mental disorder.
  • Willing to learn and research more knowledge related with the mental health’s topics.
  • English language: Good with writing and speaking, able to communicate.
  • Willing to work as the team and having good interpersonal skill.
  • Flexible and good of problem solving-skill.
