Market Access & Growth Connector

Position Circumstances
  • Career Category: Sales / Marketing, Agriculture, Tourism
  • Schedule:Full-time
  • Salary: Negotiable + Other Benefits + Based on Experience
Position Summary

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.

Working Hours: Flexible working hours, typically 9am – 6pm or 11am – 8pm (with a lunch break).

Location: Impact Hub Phnom Penh Office, with flexible remote working when necessary.

Contract Type: 1 year, fixed-duration contract*

Travel: Occasional traveling to the field (<15% of time).

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • What You'll Do:
  • Regardless of level, the core work is the same. You will:
  • Build and steward a network of buyers and partners. You develop trusted relationships with buyers, distributors, and strategic partners. And you turn that trust into real commercial opportunities for the entrepreneurs we support.
  • Map the ecosystem and know which doors matter. You understand the landscape (i.e. who the buyers are, what they’re looking for, and where the entry points are). You don’t just open doors; you know which ones are worth opening.
  • Assess readiness and position products for the right markets. You work with entrepreneurs to sharpen their value proposition, pricing, packaging, and pitch through training and mentoring. You understand where each entrepreneur is in their journey, and you help them see what’s working, what needs strengthening, and when the timing is right to be in front of a specific buyer. You’re invested in getting them there.
  • Be present in the spaces where opportunities happen. You represent Impact Hub at events, trade shows, B2B sessions, and industry gatherings to identify specific buyers and partnerships worth exploring, leaving with concrete next steps, and bringing opportunities back to the entrepreneurs we support.
  • Bring market intelligence back to the team. What you learn from buyers (what they want, what’s missing, what’s not landing) flows back to shape Impact Hub Phnom Penh’s technical know-how.
  • Tell the story. You shape how our entrepreneurs and their products are seen: helping buyers understand the value, the people behind it, and why it matters. You guide content direction and marketing materials with warmth and substance, and people leave your conversations curious and wanting to follow up.
  • Deliver commercial results. You measure your work by what actually happened: contracts signed, shelves stocked, repeat orders placed, entrepreneurs growing their sales. You care about outcomes, not activity.
  • Work as part of a team. You sit alongside colleagues who handle community building, product-quality training, logistics, and coordination. Your lane is external: relationships, partnerships, and market strategy. You collaborate closely, share what you’re learning, and own your domain.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary
  • Room for growth in the organization and a flexible role that can adapt to your strengths and interests.
  • Private health insurance and NSSF benefits. Annual professional development budget.
  • 1 extra day off per month on the 1st day of painful periods for people who menstruate.
  • Possibility to become a trainer or mentor for our entrepreneurs and youth community.
  • Access to a global reservoir of knowledge in the Impact Hub Network.
  • Possibility to "be adopted" by our alumni entrepreneurs to work for them for 3 days and use your skills to help them.
  • Diverse opportunities to travel locally and internationally to represent IHPP in our network, as part of our programs, and to learn from others in the Region.
Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • Khmer - Fluent is required
  • English - Good is preferred
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Master's Degree
Work History:
  • Business Development, Partnerships, or Market Access in Social Enterprises and Impact for 3 to 5 years is preferred
  • Experience working with agriculture, food products, NTFPs, eco-tourism or related value chains in Startups and Entrepreneurial Ventures for 3 to 5 years is preferred
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • These aren't nice-to-haves. They're the things that make someone right for this work, regardless of seniority:
  • You can tell a story: Whether it's a pitch to a buyer, a product sheet, or a conversation at an event; you communicate with warmth and substance.
  • You're a relationship person: You build trust quickly. People remember you, not because you're out there, but because you're genuine, curious, and you follow through.
  • You care about the entrepreneurs we work with: You treat their products, stories, and trust seriously. They're partners, not just deals to be made or products to be sold.
  • You have real curiosity about products and markets: You ask insightful questions. You understand what makes a product land with a buyer and what doesn't.
  • You believe value should flow back: You care that smallholder farmers and local communities benefit, not just the top of the chain.
  • You're hands-on: You move from strategy to action without needing a perfect process. You're resourceful and you figure things out.
  • Fluency in English is essential - written and spoken, including for pitches and marketing materials. Khmer fluency is preferred.
  • We're also open to candidates with strong regional experience and a demonstrated ability to build local relationships.
